The controllable pitch propeller has good performance in improving mobility, economy and maneuverability of ships. Its market ranges from warships to merchant ships and civil ships. The dynamic loading testing system of controllable pitch propeller, which is one of the main test equipments for performance and reliability of controllable pitch propeller, can largely improve the research and development ability of controllable pitch propeller.In this dissertation, derived from research and development project of a controllable pitch propeller testing bench, the design principles and a number of key technical issues of controllable pitch propeller testing system were analyzed and researched. The researched key technical issues include three aspects. The centrifugal loading method of controllable pitch propeller is the first aspect. Another one is the design and simulation of single-motor and double-motor driving modes. The last one is the design of the messurement and control system. The specific contents are as follows:(1) In this dissertation, the composition, structure and propulsion system of controllable pitch propeller were introduced, and the static and dynamic loading method of controllable pitch propeller were analyzed. According to test requirements of controllable pitch propeller, the integrated design plan of the controllable pitch propeller dynamic loading testing system was proposed. Besides, design principles of driving system, measurement and control system were proposed. For driving system, the design requirements and selection method were proposed. For measurement and control system, the hierarchical mode of operating panel plus testing software was proposed.(2) The external load of paddles in water and the calculation method of centrifugal torque and centrifugal moment were proposed. Besides, dimension parameters calculation and interference checking of centrifugal loading device were done to meet the loading simulation requirements of the dynamic loading testing system. On the basis of the dimension parameters after calculating, the centrifugal loading device was modeled and the dynamic loading condition was simulated by using the finite element simulation software ANSYS. According to the analysis of the simulation results, the effect of centrifugal loading method could be evaluated.(3) The parameters and principles of the main components of the driving system were introduced, including driving motors, parallel gearbox and sliding bearings. Master-slave control function of the frequency converter was proposed to achieve double-motor parallel driving, and the principles of single-motor and double-motor driving modes were analyzed. The main components of the driving system were modeled by system simulation software Simulink, and the modeling principles of each component was given. The whole driving system was simulated ultimately based on the previous. Simulation conditions included single-motor and double-motor operating with constant pitch and changing pitch.(4) According to the requirements of the testing system overall functions, combined with the characteristics of the centrifugal loading and components of the driving system, the measurement and control system of the testing bench were designed, including the electrical control system, data acquiring system and the operating software. For electrical control system, the distributed design method with main system plus subsystem was proposed. For data acquiring system, the positions of strain measurement and design principles of multi-channel strain measurement device were proposed. For operating software, the function modules and design principles of the monitoring and control program were introduced. In addition, the testing procedures were introduced and test data of two typical tests was provided. According to the analysis of the test data, the performance of the testing system was evaluated.
