With the progress of science, ship industry are increasingly demanding on the properties of propeller, controllable pitch propeller on some prototype application has better maneuverability, promote the efficiency and safety comparing to conventional propeller, moreover it can also ensure the controllable pitch propeller prime mover full power in any condition, that has high propeller propulsion efficiency. It is because these characteristics, and it is gradually applied in some special Marine vessels, now more and more shipping companies and research institutes has increased the application research of controllable pitch propeller. Due to itself late development about the controllable pitch propeller, it related research materials is limited, using a given ship type parameters, make the pitch propeller design, and use CFD analysis controllable pitch propeller hydrodynamic performance analysis. Specifically speaking, it is depending on parameters which we have, by changing pitch ratio to make different propeller speed gear cut analysis pitch propeller’s thrust, torque and advance the efficiency of the same amount of change trend, thus get the pitch propeller under different conditions of working condition and features to make the relevant theoretical analysis. In this paper, the main work contents are as follows:1. In this paper, it will introduce the working characteristic and principle of the controllable pitch propeller, aimed at testing result data, with its Marine controllable pitch propeller as the research object, use UG three-dimensional modeling software building switch pitch propeller for 3 d geometric modeling;2. The design of the propeller model is imported into the FLUENT software, establish work flow field of the propeller, set of boundary layer, do model meshing, numerical analysis and set up the calculation parameters is calculated;3. By setting different parameters calculation to predict propeller working characteristic under different propeller speed and different controllable pitch, get the relevant simulation analysis of the screw parameters(velocity vector, the velocity distribution, pressure distribution of flow field, the propeller pressure surface distribution, and thrust coefficient, torque and torque coefficient and open water efficiency, etc.) the change trend and analysis.
