Maintenance window has a significant impact on passing ability of high-speed railway. With a large number of the night train operation, it puts forward higher requirements for the setting of maintenance window. It is a question needs to be studied urgently that how to improve the working efficiency of comprehensive maintenance window.Domestic and foreign scholars’ study on comprehensive maintenance window mostly related to the design of forms and train operation plans. Their results are theoretical. Part of these research on single professional are failed to combine multiple specialties and short of comprehensibility. Based on a large amount of empirical research, this paper combines quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze and optimize the sets of maintenance gang and operation flow of comprehensive maintenance window.Through the analysis of the utilization mode of maintenance window, this paper puts forward its advantages and influencing factors. It also analyzes affected factors of maintenance gang setting, sums up the optimization principles and establishes an optimization model. With the Beijing-Guangzhou and Hangzhou-Shenzhen high-speed railway as an example, the paper optimizes the maintenance gangs and puts forward a reasonable set distance. Based on the theory of business process reengineering, the paper analyzes maintenance work and diagnosis the problems of it. Through integration, cut, addition and supplement of existing working processes, this paper proposes a maintenance window operation mode after the optimization. It also proposes a suitable operation mode of comprehensive maintenance window with Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway as an example.
