According to the actual situation of forklift truck assembly plant, designing the evaluation index, which combined with manufacturing commonly used evaluation criteria. And then build the layout scheme of the hierarchical structure model and chosen the best layout scheme.Finally, optimizing the factory layout based on GA. Building mathematical model based on forklift truck assembly plant, which reducing the total carrying amount. And then solve it with MATLAB software. In the design process of the algorithm, generating initial population which using layout plan and randomly selected. Operating the initial population with coding, selection, crossover and mutation, then get the better layout. As we can see, Instance verifies the feasibility and effectiveness in layout optimization of a forklift truck assembly plant with GA.
