With the development of the electronic technology, the increasing demand of electronic products brings development opportunities to the electric connector market. The connector manufacturing technique and production equipments will also be updated accordingly. The enterprise can be adapted to the rapid upgrading of the connector products. The enterprise can complete the product design in a short time. And the enterprise can realize the automation equipment for mass production. That will be the key of the enterprise can establish itself in the connector industry. The surface testing and packaging of BTB connector is an important part of the production process. The direction of each manufacturer is to improve the detection precision, to improve the level of automation, and to improve production efficiency. In this subject, the BTB connectors testing and packaging system based on PLC has been developed in TIANJIN YXT TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD., to meet the demand of BTB connector of the production process.This system used PLC control technology and visual detection technology as the core, and the use of sensor technology, servo positioning technology and pneumatic drive technology combined together. This system will run on the BTB connector testing and packaging platform, to achieve the function automatically. The control segment of this system took Mitsubishi FX3UC series PLC as the main control unit, took servo, motor stepping motor, photoelectric switch, temperature controller, solenoid valve as I/O devices. All of them build up the vacuum mechanical arm for transmitting, the removable testing platform, the temperature control system, and the conveyor for packaging. In this system, SFC was adopted to carry out programming with the GX Developer, to achieve the logic programming features as statistics, alarm generation and automatic/manual control of discharging, transmitting, testing, sorting and packaging. The detection part of this system was consisted with industrial digital cameras, LED light, personal computer and display. The PC print port was used to establish parallel communication with the PLC to realize the signal interactive of detection trigger and the test results. In this part a detection method of BTB connector based on EFFD and a straight lines detection algorithm was researched to test the position, coplanar degree and number of the pin. The human-machine interface has been designed on TK6070ih touch screen by EasyBuilder8000 software to realize the function as mode switch, operation control, operation monitoring, parameter setting and alarm display, etc. The PC monitoring system was designed by Kingview to save the data statistics of the system operation process. The statistical results reflect the production situation of the current period.The practical application in BTB connector production workshop proved that this system has convenient installation, easy operation, high efficiency and reliable test results. Using this system can effectively improve the efficiency of BTB connector inspection and packaging, reduce labor cost, count and save the data in the production process. This system effectively reflects the BTB connector production situation of production line. It is the beneficial attempt of the BTB connector automation production line. And it has broad application prospects.
