As a key component of automobile starter system, the performance of solenoid switch will have a direct impact on vehicle reliability. The design of solenoid switch currently have no completely independent design capabilities.various parameters affecting on product performance is not fully understood, and most of them rely on past design experience, so the design cycle is long. With the help of computer-aided techniques, this thesis focuses on the static and dynamic characteristics of the solenoid switch, and it can provide a theoretical reference for engineering design.This thesis describes the typical structure and principle of the solenoid switch, and analyzes the characteristics of electromagnetic force and the spring reaction force. It lists three commonly used calculation method of the electromagnetic force, and summarizes the characteristics of various methods. Considering the accuracy of traditional magnetic circuit analysis is not high enough, it gives an improved magnetic circuit analysis. It has been used for analyzing of product example,and the effect of the algorithm is validated. The thesis shows the steps of finite element modeling of solenoid switch with the help of Ansoft software, and the problem that needs to pay attention to in modeling process is described in detail. Taking into account the design prone to magnetic saturation and magnetic waste, the magnetic field distribution of the solenoid switch is briefly analyzed,and it offers a calculation method of the average flux density.This thesis analyzes the simulation and experiment of solenoid switch’s static characteristics by using finite element method based on Ansoft and improved magnetic circuit analysis based on simulink. The advantages and disadvantages of finite element method and the magnetic circuit analysis are summaried in this thesis, engineering design can make choice depending on the actual situation. This article also mathematical model analyzes the dynamic process of the electromagnetic switch, and the response time for the theoretical calculation. Respectively at Maxwell Ansoft and MATLAB/simuIink software environment, the dynamic characteristics of the solenoid switch is simulated to obtain experimental verification, and it discusses the key parameters affecting on the dynamic characteristics of Solenoid switch.At last,the dynamic characteristics of solenoid switch under load case is briefly analyzed. The simulation curves and experimental waveforms were compared to verify the validity of the method.
