Advanced application of Smart Substation is the major difference between smart substation and traditional substation. In recent years, with rapid development of smart substation, advanced application such as remote view, smart alarm, sequence control, also has been gradually put into practical engineering. To ensure safety and stability of power system, it is necessary to make functional tests on advanced application based on relevant provisions before they are put into use. But there is no efficient at test systems and test solutions home and abroad. It is necessary to design and develop test systems and test solutions on advanced application to test them comprehensively.Based on integrated monitoring and command platform, an advanced application test system of Smart Substation is the proposed, which consists of equipment performance test subsystem on station level, sequence control test subsystem, smart alarm test subsystem, remote control function test subsystem and remote view test subsystem. Each test subsystem is designed for different advanced application, especially for data exchange process, operations between different parts, comprehensiveness and reliability of integrated monitoring and command platform.The paper takes equipment property test subsystem on station level and sequence control test subsystem for example to elaborate architecture design, software arrangement, test program and test process, and exam the practicality and reliability of the whole test system by examples. Equipment property test subsystem on station level is to exam CPU load rate, memory usage rate, disk usage rate and network load rate of each network port of major equipments on station level by simulating terrible working state of IED in laboratory, to make sure the index is within predetermined range. Sequence control test subsystem is to simulate control center issuing sequence control orders and monitors the each response of integrated monitoring system by simulating working state of IED. Test of sequence control consists of communication function test, file of ticket operation test, preview on ticket operation test and execution on ticket operation which is divided into positive test and negative test. By obtaining state of each section and selecting different operation order, then carrying out positive tests and negative tests repeatedly, we can exam all logic in five-prevention and all operations tickets. It will make advanced application work safely and stably in smart grid.The paper uses VC++ language in VS2008 and Qt 4.3.0 platform to develop test system and exams equipment property test subsystem on station level and sequence control test subsystem on Windows environment in laboratory. The result shows that the system can test advanced application efficiently, and represent the properties truly.
