Face gear transmission has advantages of simple structure, light weight and characteristic in split-flow transmission, which makes it have a potential predominance in aviation field. In the simulation analysis process of a face gear transmission system, it is necessary to analyze its dynamic characteristics, static characteristics, etc. Therefore, multi-field knowledge is needed to provide support and reference for the analytical process. Meanwhile, the process generates a lot of unorganized simulation knowledge that will be used in the following simulation activities. But the generated and used knowledge is distributed in different media and refers to many fields. It is difficult to manage and obtain so knowledge. In view of this, it is urgent to design the knowledge management system acording to actual needs that can realize efficient knowledge management, sharing and reuse.In the paper, the systematic study on the requirements of knowledge management and functional requirements of the knowledge management system for face gear transimission simulation analysis is carried out. Aiming at the characteristics of simulation analysis, related knowledge is classified and a frame-based object-oriented knowledge representation method is adopted to describe knowledge units and its hierarchy. The reasoning method is used that integrates rule-based reasoning with case-based reasoning. By using other key technology of knowledge management, a knowledge management software system of simulation analysis for face gear transmission is designed and developed. The research contents of the paper are as follows:First, knowledge meaning, knowledge characteristics, knowledge management meaning, knowledge management process and supporting technology are elaborated in detail.Then, on the basis of simulation knowledge classification, the logical relations among various types of knowledge are clarified. An object-oriented approach is used to convert a knowledge class to an entity class. On the basis of the key knowledge management technology analysis, the system framework is designed. In.NET development environment, C# serves as the development language. A face gear transmission oriented simulation knowledge management system is developed.And then, based on knowledge base technology and knowledge classification, the technical route of knowledge base development is determined. MySQL is used as the data server of knowledge base in the development process. The persistence tool NHibernate is encapsulated using Spring.net application framework. The knowledge base framework and functional modules are realized.Finally, taking simulation analysis knowledge management for face gear transmission for example, a simulation analysis knowledge base for face gear transmission is built to store,. search, edit and maintain the simulation knowledge. The feasibility and practicability of the simulation analysis knowledge management system for face gear transmission are validated.
