However, in most of the cities of our country, bicycle transportation system planning and construction lag behind; bicycle traffic environment is worse. With the city development and construction, bicycle traffic system planning has not been taken actually and bicycle lanes space is often occupied. As the result, the continuity and systematization of the bicycle traffic network are far less, which affect the traffic efficiency of the bicycle traffic road network. The phenomenon of city bicycle traffic environment need to be changed.Kunming is located in the Dianchi plain and the terrain is relatively flat, so the requirement of power performance of the vehicle is not high. The scale of the main city is moderate. Most of the daily travel radius is less than 10km. The climate in Kunming is temperate and is very suitable for the development of bicycle traffic. In addition, Kunming’s public transport construction is gradually developing. However, there is still a gap between the destination and the public transport sites and he bicycle traffic have an advantage on this. To combine the cycling and city public transportation can effectively connect the gap.This thesis discusses the current situation of bicycle lanes space and traffic facilities in Kunming. There are many problem of bicycle transport in city, such as the lack of bicycle lanes space and supporting facilities, irrationality of road network and facilities, public bike system being not successful implemented, laws and regulations system being not perfect.This thesis contains key informations that relates to the planning, design and traffic management of cycling network, facilities, system to improve the environmental quality, change people’s travel attitudes and habits to choose to ride bicycle for urban commuter traffic, transfer connections, tourism, leisure and other for the purpose of short distance travel. In this way, the the structure of city traffic system can be optimized. |
