With the continued consumption of fossil fuels and environmental pollution becoming increasingly severe, wind power generation has been developed and utilized in a large scale. It has become an important way to solve energy and environment problems and achieve sustainable development. While influenced by the change of natural conditions, wind power shows lots of randomness and intermittent, which highly limit large-scale wind power integration and cause serious wind power curtailment in our country. With the increase of wind power capacity, wind power curtailment is becoming more and more serious. Therefore, effective wind power accommodation mechanism is of great significance to solve current wind power curtailment problem and ensure sustainable development of wind power industry.Firstly, wind power curtailment problem and wind power accommodation mechanism have conducted in-brief analysis. Then the wind power accommodation mechanism based on electric boiler and the wind power accommodation mechanism based on energy storage system are modeled respectively. Comprehensive income evaluation, optimal analysis of capacity and analysis of wind power accommodation ability are carried out subsequently. In the end, the two mechanisms are compared from the perspective of investment risk, investment benefit and wind power accommodation ability.Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan power grid is taken as an example for case study of wind power accommodation mechanisms. The results show that the optimum capacity of electric boiler is 1100 MW and the optimum capacity of energy storage system is 550 MWh under the data of 2015. The comparison analysis from the perspective of investment risk shows that the mechanism based on electric boiler has smaller investment risk. The comparison analysis from the perspective of investment benefit shows that the mechanism based on electric boiler has higher investment benefit. The comparison analysis from the perspective of wind power accommodation ability shows that the mechanism based on electric boiler has stronger wind power accommodation ability. Therefore, the mechanism based on electric boiler is more suitable for investment; to solve the current wind power curtailment problem in Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan power grid, priority should be given to the mechanism based on electric boiler.
