Fused deposition rapid prototyping technology (fused deposition modeling FDM) meet the market demand for rapid product development and customization with the advantage of flexible manufacturing, green manufacturing and rapid prototyping. At present the FDM technology is widely used in product development, mold making, personalized design. FDM technology is an important part of the rapid prototyping technology. However FDM technology is only used in some of the low precision field due to the precision of FDM process molding being low. More seriously, these problems restrict the further promotion and application of FDM technique. Therefore, how to improve the process accuracy of today’s rapid prototyping is an urgent problem faced in the development of FDM technology.Based on the FDM molding process, this paper researched the related factors affecting the molding precision by pre-processing, molding process and postprocessing. According to the dimension error in FDM molded article and the reason that how the surface error was leaded, we make experimental analysis the parameter that affecting the size error and surface error. We studied the impact on the size error of linear shrinkage based on the theoretical analysis of linear shrinkage at different direction. In addition,combined the step error model and out of wire cross-sectional model, we imposed a ’lamellar’ contour model and study the main factors affecting the article lamellar amplitude by selecting parameters such as forming angle, obtaining its influence law and got the influence law about parameter that affecting warping.According to the deformation problems of FDM parts, this paper established deformation model and got the influence law about parameter that affecting warping through the stress-strain analysis of inner layer. Based on MarkerBot machine, this paper studied the influence parameter by orthogonal design. At last the mathematical model was verified and supplemented as well. And obtain the relationship between the primary and secondary factors, and we also get the optimal combination. Finally, the article proposes methods to reduce the warping, and the feasibility of measures to reduce warping was tested by an example.
