With the rapid development of China’s economy, the major transformation of the old city, town building and road construction, harbor construction, bridge construction, and many other projects launched and starting to stimulate and promote the development and prosperity of China’s machinery manufacturing industry, the tower cranes and bridge construction has been wideely purchased and used by the construction companies, as the most mportant operating equipment of architecture and bridge building. But our existing tower crane safety device reliability is not high, only part of the tower cranes installed a limiter or stopper, and didn’t install thework status monitor and other safety devices,so when the crane driver is oper iating cranes,he doesn’t konw the real-time operating status and is not determined whether the object exceed the rated lifting weight, whether the motor overload operation, even if the stopper failing. Therefore, in order to ensure the normal operation of tower crane safety, you must install the real-time monitoring system for the tower crane.Based on specific topics and work background, the paper indicated the need to build self-elevating tower crane safety monitoring system, analyzed the tower crane safety monitoring domestic and foreign research status and future development trends, and gave a thorough introduction to the key technology research of crane safety monitoring system, including I2C communication, sensor selection and combination of microcontroller, analog and digital conversion,the same time the status of the various techniques and their advantages and disadvantages of this system has also been covered by a detailed description and analysis,,at last,according to China’s corresponding standards and actual final demand related to the topics, the design and framework of this crane monitoring system content has been given. Hardware design crane intelligent monitoring system for each module has benn completed, including two sub-systems, namely:analog data acquisition subsystem and data processing subsystem.Analog acquisition system in real-time wind speed, hook height, the amplitude of the car, tower slewing angle and weight lifting five analog; data processing subsystem STC89C52 microcontroller core data processing, according to the software requirements of the system, based on the monitoring system of the device hardware, in KeiluVision4 software development environment, used C language function code that acheived the obtaining of mnitoring 5 craned measuring amounts.Finally, the monitoring system achieved the analog measurement and acquisition of 5 craned important parameters by 5 Analog sensor, and then with STC89C52 microcontroller as the core data processing,real-time working parameters crane work has been obtained,and the research objectives of this project has been achieved, to assist the work of the operator and reduce the occurrence of crane accident rates.
