The historic environment is experiencing a big renaissance nowadays, and how to integrate new buildings into historic environment has become a urgent problem to solve in historic renewing. Because of their richness in culture, new museums are built in some particular historic environment as the most appealing places to attract visitors worldwide to realize the renaissance of historic renaissance. A lot more new museums will be built in the renewing of historic relics, and how to maintain a harmonious relationship with historic buildings without losing their own characteristics, which make them attractive, is the most difficult problem to solve, which is the issue this article is to explore.According to the relationship between "the old and the new”, the many techniques of new building design in historic environment can be divided into two basic strategies:Contrast and Coordination. This article will take this classification, and by learning the most successful cases in the situation, in the article we draw a conclusion of techniques commonly used most efficient in this special situation of the two opposite strategies.
