Pedestrian traffic is an important part of the signalized intersection. At present, the planning and design of the signalized intersection give priority to efficiency of the vehicles. In order to ensure the efficiency of the vehicles, many pedestrians crossing environments have been destroyed in Beijing, "Chinese style of crossing road" came into being. The design concept of signalized intersection based on the pedestrians crossing endurance time is a novel design idea in traffic engineering. It reflects the objective demand of the "people-oriented" design idea as well as easing the traffic congestion. It ensures the crossing safety of the pedestrian and has a great significance on improving the efficiency and the operation order of the intersection. Moreover, it has important practical significance and scientific research value on promoting the principle of "equity priority and give consideration to efficiency", improving the efficiency and sound development of urban traffic system. In this paper, according to the characteristics of the current traffic in Beijing, fouces on the pedestrians who arrive at the signalized intersection crosswalk waiting area during the red light, and analyzes the pedestrians crossing endurance time at signalized intersection and the main influencing factors.Based on the research reviewed of the influence factors of pedestrians illegally crossing the street at signal intersection, the pedestrians crossing wait time at signalized intersection and the application of survival analysis in the traffic research, the paper found that the scholars at home and abroad did a lot of work in this field, and got some achievements in recent years. However, the research didn’t considere the multivariate will of the pedestrians crossing and the same time couldn’t reflect the actual situation of the pedestrians crossing. Therefore, the paper choosed the environmental factors, pedestrians characteristics, travel time, traffic conditions and road environment as the main influence factors, based on the survival analysis, systematic analysis was carried out on the pedestrians crossing endurance time at signal intersection.The paper used both video survey and manual survey to obtain based data of pedestrians crossing endurance time under the different influence factors in Beijing, and collected 9554 samples of endurance time. Then the data were statistically analyzed. The paper analysed the percentile statistics and distribution of endurance time under the different influence factors.Based on the empirical research data, the paper studied the distribution of endurance time under the single influence factor by using the K-M analysis method of survival analysis. The results show that the limit endurance time is 56.84 s.The paper built a Cox hazard-based model of pedestrians crossing endurance time at signalized intersection. The endurance time was estimated with the Cox hazard-based model. The limit endurance time is 52.88 s. Meanwhile, The results show that temperature, sex, age, travel time, red light time, unit of vehicles traffic, length of crosswalk have great influence on the pedestrians crossing endurance time, but the influence on the endurance time of land properties is not significant.The paper established weibull distribution parameter model of pedestrians crossing endurance time at signalized intersection. Based on the surveyed data, the model parameters were estimated and then set up survival function and hazard function for the pedestrians crossing at endurance time signalized intersection. The results show that the influence on the endurance time of temperature, sex, age, travel time, red light time, unit of vehicles traffic, length of crosswalk, land properties is significant.
