The Building Of Comprehensive Evaluation Framework Centering Walkability In Zhujiang New Town Core Area And The Quantitative Studies Of Its Mechanism Of Action

Along with the increasing importance of "walking city" construction, people’s trip mode is also gradually returning to walk instead of by car. Walkability are becoming a significant standard reflecting the city vitality and the low carbon travel efficiency of urban residents. At the beginning of the 20 th century, however, the rapid development of the city made people paying too much attention to the car scale, and a series of problems relating to walkability emerges. Such as: the broken of walking network, the deteriorating of pedestrian environment, the increasing problem of pedestrian safety. Therefore, it is becoming more and more necessary to carry on a research on the intuitive method of walkability evaluation, discuss the influence of walkability mechanism, and then put forward the optimizing strategy.After analyzing the research status about walkability at home and abroad, we can find out multi foreign institutions are now using the walk score evaluation to measure the walkability of the city. Walk score evaluation is a kind of objective and quantitative method, it is able to reach an overall evaluation of all walking areas. Abroad study of walk score evaluation has been committed to analyze and determine standard value, cease at the level of overall evaluation of regional walkability. However in the evaluation framework built by this paper, we can introduce the walk score evaluation method, and increase the discussion on walking mechanism, the research and analysis on the sensitive factors of walkability.At first, this paper carries out in-depth research on several evaluation methods of walkability, combining the feature of walkability in central area, analyzes the problems of existing evaluation methods. Then combined the unscrambling of the concept of walkability in this paper, the connotation of walkability is determined. The two aspects are as follows, the travel characterization of pedestrians and the impact of the built environment. On this basis we introduce the evaluation method of walking index, at the same tome perfect and deepen it, build the framework of comprehensive evaluation of walkability. Secondly, through literature search and field investigation determine the comprehensive evaluation index system of walkability, establishes a comprehensive evaluation framework of walkability in central area, finally we take the Zhujiang New Town as the research sample, evaluate its walking conditions, derive the walkability sensitive mechanism of the central city, and put forward the principle for optimization of the walkability in central area.This paper is divided into three parts, the first part is about the basics, which include introduction and an overview of the content of the evaluation methods of walking ability. This article introduces the research background and purpose of this article at first, and then summarizes the key factors that can affect walking ability, analyze the problems of existing measurement methods of walking ability, and ultimately selects quantitative comprehensive evaluation as research methods of this article; The second part is about the evaluation system establishment and operation of actual case, and contains chapter 3 and chapter 4, which is about the establishment of the comprehensive quantitative model of walking ability at first, then the evaluation of the typical case Zhujiang New Town core zone, and according to the results the strategies to improve the central area walking ability are proposed, so the sensitive and non-sensitive walking ability components are concluded; the third part is the concluding chapter, where the elements of walking ability concluded in chapter four are classified and principles of forming walking ability in city center are proposed.The research and innovation points of this paper are as follows: First, the measurement of "walking ability" often used qualitative methods applied to settlements reviews at home and aboard. This is the first time quantitative comprehensive evaluation will be used in studying walking system in central area; second, in the screening of evaluation index and establishment of evaluation system, the author draws on sophisticated Post Occupancy Evaluation methods to improve the assessment.
