Ancestral temple is an important part of traditional Chinese architecture, both the characteristics of architectural space and building techniques and decorative features, can be called template and the soul of Chinese folk art, is artistic treasures of Chinese traditional culture.As the material carrier of culture and institution, ancestral hall can not only reflects the society at that time the unique humanistic thought and aesthetic idea, can reflect the nature, economy, culture, philosophy, aesthetics and humanistic thought.Ancestral temple, therefore, have important historical and cultural research value, is the wealth of the treasure house of Chinese traditional architecture, is worth us to explore, excavation and research.But as the change of The Times, due to war, natural disaster and man-made factors, make the most of the ancestral temple has been damaged, Ancestral temple building protection present situation is worrying.Selection based on the perspective of regional culture, ancestral temple in southern shaanxi as the research object, applied social science, architecture, history and phenomenology, architectural heritage protection theory, take the read data collection, field research, comparison, induction, the method of in the village and ancestral temple site selection, layout mode, building space form, structure and decoration features several aspects one by one, the study of ancestral temple in southern shaanxi, and then summed up the ancestral hall in the historical and cultural value, and put forward the corresponding protection strategy.First of all, to study the topography, the Confucian culture and geomantic theory from three aspects of village and the location of the ancestral temple.Second, the research in the ancestral temple layout mode, and the space of the ancestral hall morphological characteristics according to the entrance space, space, the paper summarizes ancillary space three categories.Then, the research in the structure characteristics of the ancestral hall and decorative parts and characteristics.Finally, on the basis of above analysis, summed up the ancestral hall in the historical and cultural value, and from the two aspects of protection principles and protection strategy of ancestral temple in protection are proposed.Through several aspects above, this paper studied the ancestral temple in this kind of buildings, in southern shaanxi ancestral temple architecture to make up for the lack of research theory, summarized the value of the ancestral temple in southern shaanxi, and to provide certain theory reference of ancestral temple in further research.
