Study On Comprehensive Evaluation Of Urban Cross Signalized Intersection

In the urban road network, the cross signalized intersection as a transportation junction between the road section, existed convergence and interleaved in multi-directional traffic flow, which has been restricting the development of urban traffic network bottlenecks, leading to the intersection operating status declining. In order to effectively solve this problem, the paper presents a scientific and effective comprehensive evaluation for transportation operation of signalized intersection, providing a reference for the Signalized intersection traffic management.Firstly, by analyzing the characteristics of urban road intersections traffic flow, analyzing the basic concept of signalized intersection traffic signal controlling and the distribution of intersection traffic conflict points with no signal phase controlling. The paper studies on the calculation method of the straight lane capacity and left-turn lane or right-turn lane with traffic signal controlling or not, receiving the calculation model of signal intersection capacitySecondly, The paper focus on the selected urban signalized intersection comprehensive evaluation method and points out the advantages and disadvantages of different evaluation methods. By comparing the different evaluation methods, the analytic hierarchy process is the best method for the city cross signalized intersection comprehensive evaluation. The paper appraise the cross signalized intersection with multi-index and multi-level evaluation, focuses on selecting the evaluation of the selected intersections and according to the logical relationships detailed classification. The level of transport infrastructure, traffic management and traffic operation efficiency is apprised by AHP. For each evaluation carried out a non-dimensional treatment, and the corresponding rating level and the corresponding weight value, eventually got the city cross signalized intersection comprehensive evaluation grade.Finally, the paper analyzes the Nanshaomen’s signalized intersection in xi’an, introduces the evaluation process in details. According to the results of comprehensive evaluation, analysis the problems and proposed improvement measures.
