Nowadays, the development of urban rail transit has been flourishing in China. With the growing complexity of layout, urban rail transit operation management has evolved from original single-line management into multi-line and zone-line management. The application of rail transit AFC system reduces the burden of the operating company to some extent. With the formation of metro network, use of new technology and accumulating experience of AFC system operation, there exist some limitations on system transformation and higher effective utilization in resource between different operators based on basic five-level architecture. It has been a hot point and a focus to deeply work on problems caused by indepent operation of each line. Under the circumstances mentioned above, this paper focuses on the design of AFC zone line center (ZLC)in urban rail transit.First, the research on rail transit AFC zone line center is summarized, and the structure and characteristics of basic five-level architecture of AFC system is analyzed. Corresponding readjustments are implemented, and feasibility of setting up ZLC is commented based on the previous analysis. Then the overall design scheme of ZLC is proposed. Under the architecture of ZLC, AFC system is designed according to a basic five-level architecture. Centralized management of system operation, tickets, income and maintain are realized. The central system architecture is designed based on the idea of software package. According to the "high cohesion and low coupling" principle, realization of system function is divided into diverse software packages. The analysis on design of software package, data flow and system non-functional module are followed. On the basis of overall design, interface between the modules are researched. Afterwords, design scheme of interface of ZLC system-level and device-level is described, and communication protocols are implemented. At the same time, standard interface is unified for other modules to use. Particularly, system-level communication interface is discussed. In the last part of this paper, basing on the architecture of ZLC and system interface, the design of ZLC parameter management subsystem is discussed in detail. By optimizing the design of the original parameter management subsystem, modular management is achieved, and different devices and modules can be managed with the same version of parameters.In summary, this paper did the research on AFC central system in urban rail transit, and constructed a scientific design system, which effectively solves the problems of the independent single-line operation in the network. The research of this topic is conducive to regional operation under the management of rail transit network, and provides a reference for planning and design of AFC ZLC of domestic urban rail transit, which has a strong practical significance.
