Study On Ergonomics For Tractor Cab

Auto ergonomics is an important component of the ergonomics. With the increasing attention to the heavy commercial vehicle from consumers, basic ergonomics theory is becoming perfect. As the tractor is always used in long-distance transportation, its ergonomics make a big effect on the drivers’ safe and comfortable running. This subject which is from the Innovative Center organized by a heavy commercial company and university, analyzed the ergonomics performance of the new cab which has high roof and level floor, and proposed a modified design scheme. The main work is as follow:(1) Based on the Chinese standard GB 10000-88, this paper built the modified Chinese human body dimension data with growth rate of the international standard ISO3411, then imported into CATIA, created human models.(2) Based on the relative Chinese standard and recommended standard of SAE, this paper introduced systematically some main layout tools of the auto ergonomics: H-point, eye-ellipse, stomach contour, hand-reach envelope and knee contour.(3) According to the large relative data measured on the cab, this paper built the 3-D cab model with GSD, Part Design and Freestyle modules of the CATIA.(4) This paper checked, analyzed some parts of the driver ergonomics performance, mainly including sitting posture, view field(eye-ellipse, front view field, rearview mirror, instrument board view and wiping vision), steering wheel, stomach contour, hand-reach envelope and knee contour etc, found a few worse parts of the auto ergonomics performance.(5) This paper checked, analyzed the rationality and convenience of the boarding and alighting and the couchette for occupants to test occupants’ comfort.(6) After the check and evaluation, this paper analyzed, summarized the reason of the worse parts of the auto ergonomics performance, proposed a temporary and fundamental modified design scheme, then tested the results of the each scheme, and obtained the difference through comparison.The main content of this paper contains two big parts which are theory study and example analyze. In the theory study part, this paper mainly studied the method to determine H-point, eye-ellipse center, stomach contour’s generation, hand-reach envelope and knee contour; in the example analyze part, this paper analyzed the driver and occupant respectively, found the worse parts of the auto ergonomics, provided a breakthrough point for future modified design and a referential theory for development and design of the new vehicle.
