Guangzhou as a developed city in the Pearl River Delta region, its economic growth mode changed from extensive type to intensive in the early age. The increase of demand of the technical type talent led to the mass emergencey of the advanced vocational schools in recent decades. Now these schools still increase the enrollment. And because of the lag of construction of the relevant policies, urban geographical restrictions and so on, many higher vocational schools show high density development trend, take the urban schools as typical representative. From the aspect of architecture, high density is bound to impact on the quality of space, it is the starting point of this research. In this article, the quality space mainly contains the physical impact of factors, from subjective user satisfaction evaluation to objective evaluation of micro climate.The research combines both the qualitative and quantitative methods to establish the quality evaluation system of the space, applying field research, software simulation and analysis, statistical analysis.And the difference between the consequence would be analysed emphatically. Then preliminary study on the design strategy of the Guangzhou urban high density of Advanced Vocational Schools from the angle of improving the quality of space. The research is divided into four parts. The first part(Chapter 1) through the understanding of the development course and current situation of Higher Vocational Education in Guangzhou area, points out the high density construction trend. Collect the relevant theoretical basis of high density urban development, from the point of view of architecture design, a preliminary understanding of impact of high density on the quality of space, laid the foundation for the evaluation.The second part(Chapter 2) through the collection of information, master of higher vocational schools in Guangzhou building density distribution profiles. By the density of buildings as the standard, combined with the characteristics of specialty setting in college in the training room, selected six higher density but certain differences of the city schools as the research target. For six schools for exploratory research, by observing, interview preliminary master profile of the six schools and the factor influence the satisfaction of. Combined with the design experience, establishing the evaluation elements.The third part(Chapter three, chapter four, chapter five) on the basis of the mathematical statistics analysis of the questionnaire results, and the use of computer software ENVI-met to simulate the micro climate diversity, about the research target space quality overall evaluation, and density of the initial establishment of associated. And the evaluation results of the horizontal comparison, find the source of difference.The fourth part(Chapter Six), through a summary of the results of the third part of, put forward to improve the quality of the target research space design principles and design strategies and provide reference for future similar high density of higher vocational schools.
