In order to improve transmission efficiency of the hydraulic torque converter, ordinary install the lockup clutch in hydraulic converter, and through the corresponding control system makes the lockup clutch realize latched in setting point of latch. Torque converter locking control technology has been widely used in automotive field, however the technology is seldom used in engineering vehicles which is working in the complexity condition. This article for a loader as the research carrier, to research the torque converter locking control technology by it, and analyses the related factors that influences the quality of latch, use for reference when the torque converter technology used in engineering vehicles.Firstly, according to the conditions which the law of the latching should satisfied and the actual working condition of the loader, select a law of the latching for different working conditions which is based on the throttle opening and turbine speed, as well as a break signal,transmission signals, gears and the cooling water temperature as auxiliary. Calculate the turbine speed for all locking points under different throttle opening, and on this basis, work out the loader locking control strategy.Secondly, according to the mathematical model of components which is form the loader power transmission system and the locking control strategy which has been established, both the simulation model of components which is form loader power transmission system and the simulation model of locking control were established by the software of MATAB/Simulink,and make simulation for the vehicle model, the simulation results indicated that the signal of latch can make the right response with the change of water temperature and gear shift signal,and the loader can realize latched in the point of latch. The result that the locking control model is conformed with the established control scheme is demonstrated, and the purpose of improve the efficiency of the hydraulic torque converter is realized.At last, Through analyzed the related factors which is influenced the quality of latch,designed the law of latch control which is controlled by oil charge. Used the the software of MATAB/Simulink establish the dynamic simulation model of the hydraulic torque converter’s lockup clutch and make simulation for it. The simulation results indicated that both the oil pressure and the oil filled time will cause certain influence to the closure process of torqueconverter, it demonstrate that the designed law of latch control which is controlled by oil charge is reasonable.
