Loader is mainly used to shovel and transport the bulk materials, it is the most widelyused earthmoving machinery, and has a special requirement on the powertrain, whichincluding frequent start, shift, steering and brake, etc. At present domestic loader powertrainfor performance evaluation, is still on the basis of repeated tests, not only requires a lot ofmanpower and resources, but also the efficiency is generally not high. In abroad, suchproblems are carried out by means of computer-aided software by model loader machinesimulation and performance evaluation, not only for existing products, but also be able topredict the performance of new products, before the product launch we can know itsperformance objectives are being achieved, greatly improved work efficiency and savemanpower and resources.This topic is supported by Weichai Power Shanghai R&D Center, the main contentsinclude the loader machine modeling and the preparation of powertrain matching evaluationprocedures. This article selected the part of the research on engine and torque convertermatching, on the basis of working principle of the engine and the torque converter, at firstanalyzes the engine current evaluation criterions, and pointed out its defect that referencepoint selection over a single and supplemented the evaluation criterions; then studied thetorque converter evaluation criterions under different conditions, selected or supplemented theevaluation criterions according to the specific condition characteristics; conducted acomprehensive for existing evaluation criterions of the engine and torque converter matching,proposed a suitable loader engine and torque converter matching weighting evaluation method;developed a loader engine and torque converter matching software that can be used to dealwith test data, output graph curve and match results, improve the computational efficiency ofthe matching.
