In recent years, environmental problem become more and more serious. The development of Nuclear power is important to improve the environment and energy structure. As the enhancement of safety and security, Nuclear power technology has been of the third generation. China has introduced ap1000 technology, and is developing CAP1400 independently. The application of IT in engineering becomes popular due to its rapidly development. It is cost efficient to verify and validate by simulation software, which also improves the safety coefficient of the project. Graphic modeling and simulation is the trend of the modeling and simulation industry, this paper develops Nuclear power modeling and simulation software.In this paper, the graphical and modular concepts are used to develop nuclear power plant modeling and simulation software based on worldwide nuclear power plant simulation software. Using Visio as graphical engine and Visio Automation technology as basic of developing graphical modeling platform-the virtual power plant. Meanwhile, it has good independence and extensibility because of applying modular modeling methods for equipment mathematical models and using ActiveX technology to package equipment modules. The software builds model of thermal system by the establishment of fluid network. It can automatically analyze the topological structure of system configuration graphs and establish corresponding fluid network model. This software also put fluid network and equipment modular together and build mathematical model for thermal system configuration to achieve the aim of real-time simulation of thermal system. For I&C system, it can operate real-time control logic configuration diagram. At the same time, the virtual plant platform realize the system modeling and simulation which uses MySQL as a database and combines the thermal system with I&C system by the database.In this paper, thermal system and I&C system in nuclear island and conventional island of CAP 1400 which is the third generation nuclear power technology are studied. And put emphasis on process, equipment configuration and control logic of feed water system and reactor coolant system. Mathematical model of heater, pump, valve, deaerator, steam generator, reactor based on Mechanism and experience are established, also made the graphics library. Experiments and verification are conducted on equipment by using virtual plant, the results show that model design and dynamic trend is reasonable; also verify the correctness of the model System modeling and simulation of feed water system and reactor coolant system are conducted, debugging the model by using virtual plant, carrying on system verification of feed water system and reactor coolant system. The results show that the virtual plant can set up system model correctly, functionalutility, also has value in engineering application.
