Our country covers large areas of desert.economic development and energy development in desert regions urgently need the construction of desert highway to improve the road network structure. Because of the lack of water resources in the desert, it is not suitable for the construction of cement concrete pavement, and the harsh construction environment cause construction time of hot mix asphalt concrete to be short.Base on the research results of assembly pavement at home and abroad, prefabricated asphalt pavement is put forward for desert highway construction. This prefabricated asphalt pavement provide a new way of thinking for desert highway construction, and the paper studys its mechanical behavior. The characteristics of prefabricated asphalt pavement: Roadbed and base are built at the scene, asphalt layer on the rigid substrate is concentrated prefabricated. Layered paving asphalt layer on glass fiber reinforced plastic,then cut it into similar cement panel structure unit, ship to the site, install on the base, grout joint,and the asphalt road surface construction is completed.The mechanical characteristics of prefabricated asphalt pavement were analyzed by FEM software in order to study the prefabricated asphalt pavement surface size, the thickness of asphalt surface, glass fiber reinforced plastic, grassroots and modulus of asphalt surface, glass fiber reinforced plastic influencing on structure mechanics response.And compared prefabricated asphalt pavement with the typical semi-rigid base asphalt pavement. Through the indoor interlayer bonding performance experiment of the small T-shape specimen of prefabricated asphalt pavement, this paper analyzes the influence factors of interlayer bonding performance. In view of the the main diseases of semi-rigid base asphalt pavement and cement concrete road, the mechanics characteristics of prefabricated asphalt pavement was analyzed.Numerical simulation shows that the prefabricated asphalt pavement’s best plane size is 1 m x 5 m, glass fiber reinforced plastic play an important role in the pavement structure, tensile stress of the bottom of the prefabricated asphalt pavement’s asphalt surface is only 47.83% of the typical semi-rigid pavement. Under the condition of indoor experiment, Bonding performance between glass fiber reinforced plastic and asphalt concrete would reach the best when gravel size was 2.36 ~4.75 mm, bonding material was epoxy resin adhesive, pressure was 1250 N, the temperature was 5 ℃. When cracks occurred at the base, the tensile stress of the prefabricated asphalt pavement is significantly less than that of the semi rigid base asphalt concrete pavement. When the thickness of the glass fiber reinforced plastic is 2mm, the modulus is 70 GPa, it is best to prevent the reflection crack and reduce the void minimum stress.It will form a kind of prefabricated asphalt pavement which can reduce tensile stress of asphalt surface through above study. At the same time, it creates a new train of thought in solving construction difficulties in the harsh desert conditions.
