Reverse engineering as a digestive, a means of absorbing advanced technology needs to be a solid part or manual models into CAD data for use in Rapid Prototyping System(RP), computer-aided manufacturing(CAM) systems and other advanced technologies together to achieve from product / model to directly convert the geometry.With the economic and social development, upgrading of machinery and electronic products faster and faster, resulting in a large number of scrap parts, of which a large part is because local scrap parts breakage scrapped, how these local repair damaged parts to make it work again, to ease the contradiction between economic and social development, and environmental resources is of great significance.In this paper, the reverse engineering and rapid manufacturing system combined with the use of reverse engineering techniques to obtain defect damaged parts of the STL file, and then the STL file slicing, scanning contour. Finally, the contour lines of NC code, enter Rapid Prototyping System(RP), and on the realization of the damaged parts repaired. The main contents are as follows:1. To study the acquisition method of point cloud data for contact measurement system and non-contact measurement system from measuring principle, measurements accuracy, measurement time were compared, starting from the measuring principle of the factors influencing the point cloud data quality.2.According to the form of part failure, choose from an economic and technical aspects applicable to repair parts, parts for surface processing point cloud data collected were analyzed before, both examples of the data acquisition front parts of the surface treatment on the reconstruction accuracy of the model.3.The collected point cloud data processing, by presenting outliers,data smoothing step to exclude the impact of external factors on the accuracy of the data at the point cloud datasets get.
