As a manufacturing power, China has to achieve the transformation to manufacturing power for the sake of products with competitiveness and value-added. The 10-year plan- “Made in China 2025 strategy” advances the product quality and comprehensive competitiveness and realizes the intelligent upgrade of manufacturing industry by using advanced manufacturing technology, such as green manufacturing and intelligent manufacturing. As a major component of electric power equipment, steam turbine is facing a higher challenge in manufacturing and quality inspection.Aiming at the present problems of steam turbine key components in the assembly, testing and flow measurement, this paper takes a small steam turbine in one turbine manufacturing company for the study and implements precise- rapid detection, assembly optimization and precise flow measurement of key components. This paper has promoted the following research for the above goals.Firstly, it studies the advantages and disadvantages of different adverse measuring equipment and achieves to scan the key components and assembled condition with the use of Max SHOT Optical Coordinate Measuring System and 3D laser scanner. According to the characteristics of existing reverse engineering software, this paper realizes the virtual assembly of point cloud data and extract the rotor deflection and the data about assembly and flow based on VXelements, Geomagic and other systems. and it also builds the reverse three-dimensional model.Secondly, this paper studies the assembly process of a small turbine and uses CATIA to establish the three-dimensional mathematical model of turbine key components. It also realizes assembly process simulation and interference check of the key components of turbine by using DELMIA software.Then, according to the detection technology requirements of component s test of a small turbine, combining with three-dimensional mathematical model and the point cloud scanning model of key components, it implements precision detection of key components with the reverse analysis application software Geomagic Qualify. This paper studies the assembly process of small steam turbine diaphragm, gives the recommendations of small steam turbine diaphragm assembly and testing, and achieves report of repair optimization to ensure the accurate assembly of diaphragm. Studying the existing technology of steam turbine flow measurement, it makes the turbine flow precise detection process and operation guide according to the reverse measuring instruments.Finally, using Visual Basic 6.0, office 2013 and other related software s, this paper designs and develops the key component virtual assembly simulation and optimization system of steam turbine based on reverse engineering and takes a small steam turbine as an example to verify the application of one steam turbine manufacturing plant.Thus, the results of this research can not only be used for the accurate incoming factory inspection of the critical components, but also provide suggestions for the whole turbine diaphragm assembly process to achieve accurate measurement of steam flow.
