The establishment of the china-asean free trade area (CAFTA) on January1,2010marks both sides has entered post era of free trade zone formally and greatly enhances economic and trade relations mutually. However, with intensified territorial disputes between China’s and some asean member states,world economic slow recovery after the outbreak of global financial crisis and the environmental deterioration in the Asia-Pacific political security, economic and trade relations between China and asean are confronted with numerous internal threats and challenges force.This paper analyzed the problems during the development of economic and trade relations between China and asean in the post era of free trade zone:the investment imbalances existing in development of economic and trade relations between China and asean trade; increasing competition and friction in the China and asean economic and trade relations.Then,this paper discusses reality factors which influence development of economic and trade relations respectively from inside and outside of China-asean free trade area in the post era of free trade zone. Looking from the association of south-east Asian nations itself, including the association of south-east Asian nations internal imbalance of economic development level, and the association of south-east Asian nations internal political instability;Looking from inside, including China and asean economic structure similar to competitive than complementary, the association of south-east Asian nations for China adopted a policy of trade protection, the influence of "China threat theory" within the free trade zone, China and asean have territorial disputes,etc; Looking from outside, on the one hand, developed countries seeking another way after financial crisis era and the Asia-pacific economic slow recovery impact China and asean cooperation relations, on the other hand, the United States strategy of "to return to the Asia-pacific" and the Japanese militarism recovery also bring interference to the development of economic and trade relations between China and asean. Finally, based on the above theory, this paper puts forward some ideas seeking to break bottlenecks of relations respectively from political, economic and cultural three perspectives of external and internal China-asean free trade area so as to promote the development of economy and contribute to the recovery and prosperity in the asia-pacific even the world economy.China and asean are the important economic and political bodies of the Asia-pacific and also world area, they are important force for future world economic recovery, both sides should understand history and facts, fully respect the national interests, overcome political differences, and optimize the environment of economic and trade cooperation. At the same time, in the face of the complex external environment as well as some malicious damage, both sides should always be determined the standpoint of mutual benefit and mutual trust, otherwise it will not conducive to the exchanges and development of both economies and states.
