Research On VMI Model And Implementation Strategy Of An Auto Parts Based On The Third Party Logistics Service Provider

Nowadays the world between enterprises is full of the fierce competition. The competition between companies has transferred to the competition between supply chains. The stock management is an important contents within the supply chain management, a good stock management mode can lower the total cost of the supply chain, exaltation supply chain operation efficiency, increment profits. The VMI is the supply chain stock of the forerunner that practiced to prove management mode, it can decline the low inventory and reduce the cost availably, improving to be out of stock, raise the service level and shorten to expect in advance, exaltation stock rate of turnover, raise the accuracy that need estimate.In this paper, first of all, an analysis of the research background as well as the significance of Vendor Managed Inventory model based on Third-Party Logistics. In the context of this study, it analyzes the related research of domestic and international vendor managed inventory and third-party logistics, and a large number of researches are summarized. Secondly, it introduces the current situation of auto parts industry as well as the problem, then proofs the need to carry out VMI. Next, the application of VMI and its operation mode in automobile spare parts supply logistics are analyzed. Then Points out the factors that Influence the implementation of VMI. From the analysis of the factors, Points out the deficiency of VMI, That is imbalance in the distribution of short-term economic benefits、the deficiency of information infrastructure construction and management level、trust mechanism between buyers and supplier does not sound. After introducing the development as well as the significance of TPL, it introduces the VMI model based on TPL. From Economic factors、Technical factors and relationship factors, it discusses the feasibility of VMI model based on TPL. Finally, we discuss the mode of VMI&TPL and then analyze the case of Shanghai General MotorsThe research’s result of this paper prove that the VMI model based on TPL plays a positive role in reducing cost and improving operational efficiency.
