Engineering quality is the key factor for the vehicle lifecycle. It is significant for quality management to improve product quality, reduce costs, shorten development lifecycle and strengthen market competitiveness.According to the quality defects of automotive research and development stage of prevention as the research object, through a comprehensive review and summary of the more common quality defects and customer focus things of the vehicle development process, pointed out the importance of quality management in the research and development stage. This thesis focuses on a detailed study of automobile R&D stage of quality tools, found quality tools use time random and can not integrate into the products. Application of quality tools exist apply mechanically and various quality tools independent, not establish interface of each tools. To solve these problems, this paper proposes a quality tool application and automobile R&D process effective combination method, established the Design-In Quality model, this model uses six main quality tools of QFD, DFSS, DFMEA, DRBTR,7Diamonds, Lessons Learn. This model established all product development must start from the market and customer needs, develop high quality products with low cost conditions. Prevention is the first thought throughout the product development process, effective and active problem solving to ensure the robust development of the design, lesson learned continues to share in development process, and constantly form a standardized knowledge accumulation.This thesis gives some application examples show that these methods are effective, feasibility and operability. This thesis will study the results of independent development process in G company was verified and achieved remarkable results in terms of design quality, cost and efficiency, that based on the DIQ model quality continuous improvement strategy framework and tools for enterprise development to adapt to actual situation, design robustness and risk prevention has certain advantages, for the application of automotive vehicle development process of domestic automobile enterprises have important reference significance.
