The Automotive industry has already been developed for more than100years. With the evolution of the technology, the integration among original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) is accelerated. More and more individual components development businesses are distributed to professional auto components companies. The procedure for auto components development project is getting more professional, modularization, standardization and procedural tendency. In recent years, the automobile industry in China is getting developed. More and more OEM is accelerating their schedule to enter China market. In order to get the nomination for the projects in China, the most important auto components groups start to establish the manufacture bases and the technical center in China and transfer the manufacture and development function to local team. In the meantime, standard procedure like TS16949and common tools like APQP are introduced into China market.The system for auto components development is getting more and more completed. In the real auto components development project, the quality and risk management is more and more important. How to make sure the product development quality and how to avoid the risks become2major challenge every project manager for auto components industry need to face. And one of the important problems is how to solve the various engineering issuers during the product development project.In this page, I would like to introduce the procedure and review the key points in auto components development projects, especially in the application for quality and risk management. Then, to introduce the procedure of robust engineering method with a real case applied in my work. In order to share and analysis the experience and advantage of the robust engineering design method used in auto components development project to control the project quality and potential risks.
