During the National People’s Congress and Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference in 2015, the government pointed out that we should strengthen energy conservation and protect environment. The new controlling air pollution plans gave the commitment that we should reduce the intensity of carbon dioxide over 3.1%. China actively responded to the international climate change issues and expands the carbon emissions trade. It is necessary for the transport industry to play a main role in carbon reduction as a main energy consumption sector. With the rapidly development of transportation in Beijing, the carbon emission of transportation increase quickly as well as. Therefore, the study of the transportation industry in Beijing has an important significance for the carbon reduction of the whole city. This paper is divided into five chapters: Firstly, this part mainly expounds the relevant literature review of low-carbon transportation. Secondly, this part analyses the development of freight volume and transportation sector energy consumption status quo from 1995 to 2012 of Beijing. In the third chapter, I use the transport carbon emissions EKC curve and time series method to observe the Beijing traffic carbon emissions and the development trend in the future.Through establishing the traffic carbon emissions EKC model, and analyzing the regression curve, I get the inflection point of traffic carbon emissions. Finally using the time series forecast model, the results shows that the Beijing traffic carbon emissions will reach the inflection point in 2020.In the fourth part, I use the partial least square method to analyze the factors affecting the Beijing traffic emissions. We can get the results of the analysis that the factors affecting the Beijing traffic emissions mainly including GDP, the number of the population of permanent residents, private car ownership, civil car ownership, freight turnover, number of Beijing tourism and public transportation passenger traffic according to the degree of order. Therefore, we can see that increasing in public transport passenger volume and improving the efficiency of energy use can significantly reduce carbon emissions. Finally, considering the low carbon city development of foreign experience and the previous analysis, this part puts forward suggestions for reducing carbon emissions, such as developing of low-carbon transport, guiding the residents’ needs, raising the residents’ awareness of low carbon, etc. Of course, we will continue to improve the public transport system, and must consider the low carbon in the urban planning.
