A Study On The Changing Trend And Influencing Factors Of Rural Residents' Consumption In Anhui Province

An Hui is one of China’s major agricultural province, in this province, more than half of the population is rural population, improving rural residents’ consumption structure and expanding rural consumption market can greatly promote economic development in An Hui. But since China’s reforming and opening up, the consumption expenditure of rural residents in An Hui has grown slowly, the consumption structure is not reasonable, the consumption demand of rural residents cannot be completely released, this phenomenon has restricted the improvement of farmers’ living standards and hindered the development of An Hui economy.Based on this, this paper takes the consumption of rural residents in An Hui province as the research object to study the changing trend and the influence factors of rural residents’ consumption. This paper uses a combination of dynamic and static analysis method, on the one hand, we examine the trend of An Hui rural consumption’s development from the perspective of consumption level and consumption structure,on the other hand, compared with the national and the surrounding provinces, we research current situation and existing problems of rural residents’ consumption in An Hui; Then, we will study the influence factors of An Hui rural consumption comprehensively, in terms of the income factor, we adopt an empirical analysis method to study rural residents’ consumption from the perspective of income level and income structure; in the aspect of factors other than income, this article reveals the influence of factors such as price, interest rate, commodity circulation system, and the supply of public goods respectively.This research shows that the consumption of rural residents in An Hui province has been improved obviously from 1993 to 2013, consumption level was rising year by year, the consumption structure has been transformed from subsistence to development, but compared with the national and the surrounding provinces, the consumption level is still relatively backward. In the influencing factors of An Huirural residents’ consumption, income is one of the most fundamental factors, among them, the current income, the past income and the permanent income affect consumption significantly; at the same time, the influence of salary income and operating income is relatively strong. In addition, in factors other than income, price shows an positive correlation with farmers’ consumption, the shift of consumers’ behavior caused by interest rates is not stable, the commodity circulation system is not perfect, the public goods supplied for rural residents is inadequate, these cause a certain inhibition of consumption.Based on the comprehensive analysis of rural residents’ consumption above,combining with the regional and cultural characteristic of An Hui, we can put forward policies as follows: using the advantages of An Hui tea fully, developing the tea industry and transforming the mode of tourism management, actively developing tourism industry, these policies can greatly improve the income of rural residents in An Hui, especially improve wage income and operating income, thus stimulate the rural residents’ consumption; In addition, making commodity circulation system be perfect and increasing public goods also can promote rural residents’ consumption greatly.
