Nowadays, the global information has become an inevitable trend in the development of human society, information and knowledge has become the most important strategic resource substitution of capital and labor. Along with the progress and development of science and technology, Western Europe and other developed countries have realized the transformation from industrial society to information society. But our country is still in the transformation from agricultural, industrial society to information society stage. How to accelerate the development of the information economy, narrow the gap with developed countries and realize the overtaking, becomes China’s imminent problem.Under the repaid development of global knowledge economy, innovation ability to keep leading the only proper course to take in the fierce competition."Innovation: Be Imperative" is the subject of the seventh Summer Davos forum hold in China. In our country, informatization started late, foundation is relatively weak, the knowledge reserve is not strong, in a short period of time, it is difficult to keep pace with the developed countries in terms of independent innovation. But if you are not in the high-tech fields occupying a seat, economic development will be heteronomy. With the national government and the academic community’s efforts, China has gradually probed the road of development and innovation of us. Roughly from the imitation, and gradually realize the imitation innovation, slowly realizing independent innovation. Imitative innovation strategy as the most suitable strategy for the development of innovation in enterprises in China, has been widely used in the real economy, and achieved some encouraging results. In order to better explore the imitation innovation sense, with the domestic well-known Internet companies as the samples on the real economy, Tencent’s imitation innovation strategy is analyzed, summarize the experience of success and failure, a reference case was made in the practical application of domestic enterprises for imitation innovation.This paper reviews the theoretical framework of imitation innovation, analyzes the choosing principle of imitation innovation strategy, and discusses the implementation based on the enterprise and product life cycle strategy. Through the analysis of internal and external environment for Tencent, gets the result which to choose of the firm’s innovation strategy. This paper constructs the product interface, function, profit mode based evaluation system of product innovation evaluation model, and user demand, business interests, social value as evaluation of success degree assessment system based on the product model. After listing the major products of Tencent, based on the two models of the Tencent’s products quantified evaluation application effect of imitation innovation, summary the evaluation results, and get the result of products list of two-dimensional, with different imitating degree and success degree. Based on the results of the evaluation were analyzed, draw the conclusion for the successful experience and failure experience, and give insights of development trend for the imitation innovation strategy of Tencent Inc. Finally, summarize the imitative innovation strategy significance of Tencent, reflect the shortage of this paper, and give a prospect of imitation innovation strategy for the future.
