With the mix of water conservancy and tourism and the ongoing process of ecological civilization construction, the value content of traditional water conservancy has changed. The social, economic and ecological values of water tourism are becoming increasingly significant. The soar of water tourism also brought some realistic problems such as the usage of resources, control of environment and management of development. The transformation from scale expansion to optimized operation needs scientific development thinking to be guidance. However, the academic scholars currently pay less attention to the water tourism. As a result, the conclusions are limited and it short of the creative researches on the theoretical level. The main purposes of this thesis are exploring the influencing factors of water tourism competition power, optimizing the space structure of region water tourism and analyzing the development strategies of region water tourism.Therefore, this thesis starts from the region competition power. Based on the research of relative theories and articles, this thesis constructs an evaluation index system of region water tourism competition power, which aims at the properties of water tourism. It will enrich the theoretical research of this topic. In addition, Shaanxi province is used as empirical study. Under the instruction of region water tourism competition power model and the analysis of development foundation and space structure characteristics of water tourism, it will be, to some extent, a practical guide of the development of water tourism by constructing the scheme of optimizing the space structure of Shaanxi water tourism and providing strategies of improving competition power of Shaanxi water tourism.The conclusions of this thesis are as follows:Firstly, the resources competition power and product competition power have the most significant influence on the region water tourism competition power. While, the development power of region tourism, space competition power of water tourism, supportive power of region ecological environment and region social economic, and region tourism receive ability have significant influence on the competition power of region water tourism. (1) Innovation of tourism products, taste degree of resources, environment quality of water ecological, resources rarity, tour value, combination of tourism products, opulently degree of resources, income of tourism receive and tourism products marketing are high-weights factors. They are the most important influencing factors of region water tourism competition power; (2) the weight of tourism income in GDP, combination degree of space distribution, connectivity of space structure, quantity of employment person in tourism industry, value of historical culture, ecological value of science and education, aggregate degree of space distribution, per capita disposable income, balance degree of region development, number of tourism receive people, pollution index are high-weights factors. They are the important influencing factors of region water tourism competition power; (3) safety degree of the society, the added value of third industry, quality of soil and water conservation, number of star grade hotel, supportive degree of the government, number of tourism agencies, GDP, quantity of passengers transport, investment of fixed asset are low-weights factors. They are the normal important influencing factors of region water tourism competition power.Secondly, Shaanxi water tourism is in the primary stage, but the developing environment of this region is favorable. It is a potential development region. (1) The development stages of water tourism are obvious. From 2001 to 2009 is the slow-start stage while after 2009 it became fast-developing stage; (2) the quantity of water parks presents like a "Inverted trapezoidal", which means the parks on national-level are more than those on province-level; (3) the structure of parks’type are suboptimal, which means the reservoirs, natural rivers and lakes and city rivers and lakes are more than wet lands, irrigated areas and type of soil and water parks; (4) the quality level of established parks has significant difference, and the high quality resources are limited; (5) it is high of the integrating degree among region natural geography, historical culture, social economics, tourism market, environment of water conservancy construction and water tourism.Thirdly, it has obvious properties of space structure of water tourism in Shaanxi, space distribution presents as "scatter in general, gather in details", the connectivity and accessibility of tourism space network are high. (1) space structure presents as causal distribution, in which the near point index R=0.94>1, variable coefficient CV=114.82; (2) poor performance of space distribution balance, in which imbalance index S=0.37, Gini Index Gini=0.76, degree of distribution balance C=0.24, the development in Guanzhong area is better than that in Shannan and Shanbei area; (3) The north and south of Shaanxi are scattered while the central of Shaanxi is gathered. It also means "schistose in high density, punctiform in low density". The geographical concentrate index G=37.39, average density of the distribution is 2.53 parks/104km2; (4) the distribution of parks are highly related to the basin distribution in this area. The main resources combination districts are among the main steam and tributary of Huang River, Wei River basin, Dan River basin and Han River basin; (5) the connectivity and accessibility of tourism space network are high. Xi’an is the central point of this space network. The a index is 0.67,βindex is 1.90, and γ index is 0.79. The average length of the route is 1.78, tightness index C=0.80.Foruthly, "point-line-area" system is good for the optimizing of space structure of Shaanxi water tourism. (1) the competition power of water tourism in each city is quite different. Xi’an is the first level development point of water tourism, whereas Baoji, Xianyang, Shangluo and Weinan are the second level and Ankang, Hanzhong, Yulin, Yan’an and Tongkuan are the third level; (2) the "line" of water tourism development relies on the basin distribution of rivers in Shannxi. Line of Huang River is the first level development line of water tourism, whereas line of Wei River, line of Han River, line of Luo River are the second level and line of Wuding River, line of Yan River, line of Jing River, line of Danjiang River, line of Xun River and line of Jialingjiang River are the third level; (3) the area of Huang River Special Experience in the north, the area of Wei River ecological tourism in the central, the area of Hanjiang River relaxation tourism in the south and the area of Danjiang River drift tourism in the east are the four development areas of water tourism.The innovation points of theoretical research in this thesis are:build a model,of region water tourism competition power. This model transfers the quality analysis as a quantitative analysis by weighting each index. This is the evidence of evaluating the competition power of region water tourism. The innovation points of empirical research are:analyzing the development bases and space structure of water tourism in Shaanxi. Based on the degree of region water tourism competition power, it constructs a scheme to optimize the space structure of water tourism. In addition, it provides the strategies to improve the development of water tourism competition power, which can guide the reality to some extent.
