Arable land is the land which on geography means can be used to grow crops.Arable land suitable for crop species and crop suitability level represents its suitabilityof crops. In a given period per unit area of grain crops’ production capacitydetermines the quality of arable land, and the quality of arable land is also affected bynatural factors (as topography, climate and hydrology)and other socio-economicfactors(as land use conditions).Land development and consolidation is a majortechnical means to promote the protection and construction of the farmland.Constructing land consolidation project will increase the effective area of arable landand improve the quality of cultivated land and land using efficiency. In this paper, NongAn district land consolidation project as an example,choose13arable land of land consolidation between2006to2008.These land consolidationas research subjects, reference the existing climate, hydrology and status of land using, combine with content of soil organic matter, soil pH, production and other datameasured by actual field investigation. Based in farmland evaluation methods, evaluation on quality of arable land. Select10factors affecting the quality of arableland, analyze the affecting way and the influence of10factors.The results of study showed that: medium area of cultivated land is accounted for93.7%of the total area of cultivated land, and low area is accounted for6.3%,theaverage utilization index is13.47and average economic index is12.06. Comparedwith the surrounding areas, natural quality type of cultivated land is essentially flatwith it, the using type and economic type is lower than it. The quality of the foodproduction capacity of its cultivated land shows a positive correlation with thesefactors: soil surface texture, soil organic matter, soil pH, degree of soil salinity, irrigation water, drainage, irrigation assurance rate and land use coefficient, shows anegative correlation with barrier layer depth from surface and soil profileconfiguration. Establish correlation model between food production capacity andimpacting factors, obtain the results that: the condition of soil properties is the majorfactor affecting the quality of cultivated land, the following factor is land usecoefficient, the third position is hydrological conditions. By analyzing the results, landconsolidation project is effective measures which can effectively improve the limitedland quality factors and improve the quality of cultivated land.
