The main feature of water resources in our country is little average person possession and uneven spatial and temporal distribution. A large number of freshwater resources concentrates in the south, and northern freshwater is only a quarter of the southern. A national strategic project called South-to-North Water Transfer Project is launched to meet the demand of industrial and agricultural production and people’s living, which can effectively solve the northern problem of serious shortage of water resources after it is built. However, water transfer process of large pumping stations will consume a lot of energy, leading to high operation cost. Therefore, it’s of great significance to study the optimal operation of pumping stations systems and reduce the running cost.Currently, the relevant studies on optimal operations of pumping stations mostly just take a lot of simplifications into the optimal models, the complicated theoretical system has not yet completely formed, and the results failed to make full use of working-condition adjusted function of large-scale pump units to save energy consumption. Thence, by means of combining with actual situation of project decision management and adopting the latest achievement of modern decision theories, and further improving relevant researches on methods of optimal operations of pumping station units, is is of great importance for large scale pumping stations to lower the transfer cost and realize healthy operation of project. This paper takes Hongze pumping station for example, carrying out study on methods of optimal daily operation adjustable-blade on single pump unit and single pumping station, and the main aspects are as follows.(1) Study on the methods of optimal daily operation with adjustable-blade on single pump unit of Hongze pumping station:Considering peak-valley electricity price, this paper developes a mathematical model on optimal daily operation with adjustable-blade on single pump unit, adopting the classical methods of one-dimension dynamic programming to solve it, and finally obtains a series of optimal daily operation schemes and the corresponding minimal water electricity cost in different conditions of daily heads and loads of water pumping quantity. Taking100%,80%,60%loads of water pumping quantity as study cases, the average unit cost for water consumption of each head are respectively127.49,108.94, and88.12yuan per cubic meter. Meanwhile, compared with operation at rated condition, the average unit cost for water consumption are respectively saved4.43%,18.99%,23.13%.(2) Study on the methods of optimal daily operation with adjustable-blade on Hongze pumping station:Considering the peak-valley electricity price, this paper developes same typle and different typle mathematical models of optimal daily operation with adjustable-blade on single pumping station, respectively adopting dynamic programming with successive approximation method and decomposition-dynamic programming aggregation method for large-scale to solve them, and finally obtains a series of optimal daily operation schemes in different conditions of daily heads and loads of water pumping quantity. Compared with dynamic programming with successive approximation method, the result from decomposition-dynamic programming aggregation method for large-scale is better.In the meanwhile, the percentage of average unit minimum cost for water consumption are respectively improved0.58%,1.80%,0.52%in conditions of100%,80%,60%loads of water pumping quantity.(3) Development of:Taking Visual Fortran as a system development platform, this paper develops an inquiry system of optimal operation schemes for station, providing reference for the economic operation of Hongze pumping station and the similar pumping stations.
