In this paper, a virtual instrument, which is applied on locale testing on large pumping stations, was designed. The virtual instrument, made up of PCI6251 and some sensors, is based on Lab VIEW8.0. Software designing and hardware selecting is the primary content in this paper. The system is open to on software and hardware, so that it is convenient for users to enlarge the system function. The capability of anti-disturbance is the main reason why PCI6251 was selected, in this instance, the users do not need to pay much attention on capability of anti-disturbance when they enlarge the system function. The main characteristic of virtual instrument is that, the difference of virtual instruments is in the person of software, so that it can cut down the cost by recycle.All the interfaces in this system are universal and simple, which meets the most people. The users don't have to predominate too much knowledge on PC but some about WINDOWS. The system is composed by three parts: module for reposeful running test, module for transition running test, module for mechanical vibration and noises test. It is the main function to acquire, display, save the date about pumping station field testing. The system can also gather, display, save the waves of vibration and noises, even more analyse those waves.The system can meet the basal field testing on large pumping stations according to the test by emulator.
