Aiming at the current situation of China’s agriculture water resource, to improve theefficiency of agricultural water use and reduce waste of water resources in irrigation process,combined with the actual needs of the arid and semi-arid regions of the northwest, this paperdesigns and achieves precision irrigation control system PC software. Quantitative indicatorsof irrigation control decision are surveyed and researched in this paper. System software isdeveloped using Visual Studio2010platform. SQL Server2000is used as the back databasesupport. The system is able to achieve a higher degree of automation and intelligent irrigationcontrol, can effectively improve the utilization of water resources and is conducive to thegrowth of crops. Contents of this paper are:(1) Aiming at crops and environmental differences in the greenhouse, system irrigationcontrol strategy of two work modes and three irrigation control modes are designed andachieved. Greenhouse cucumber water demand condition is researched. Greenhouse cucumberirrigation water demand model is used to support the actual irrigation water reference and helpdecision.(2) Aiming at the actual needs of greenhouse agricultural facilities, the system structure isdesigned, and the main function module of system software is divided. System software hasfunctions such as real-time monitoring, irrigation control, parameter setting, data processing,user management and communications. According to the system structure, system network isachieved based on RS-485star network model.(3) According to the actual needs of the system, the database tables and related numericfields are designed. The functions of upload data analysis, real-time data display and theprocessing of historical data are achieved. The main functions of data processing, such asreal-time information inquiry, historical data query and processing, parameter settings and usermanagement are set to supply a database to the system.(4) According to system software function modules and based on system structure, themain modules of system software are designed in detail and implemented, which can meet thefunctional requirements of the system software. A real-time and field system irrigation controlfor greenhouse crops is achieved, which has a variety of ways. The test results show that, an irrigation control for4groups of16greenhouses within1000m is implemented. Rate of communications packet loss is less than3%. Data can beuploaded, issued and stored. Real-time manual and automatic control is achieved. The systemis in keeping with the water demand for crop growth. The system integrates SCM technology,sensor and detection technology, decision support technology, database technology,communications technology etc. Real-time irrigation information collection and processing,precise control for process and irrigation water volume, specific management of irrigatedgreenhouse are achieved. From manual to automation control, real-time, on-site irrigationcontrol processes are realized by the system.
