Plant protection nozzle has been widely used in the spraying of pesticide,is a keycomponent of plant protection machines. In contrast, the development of domestic plantprotection machinery technology is lagging behind the developed countries a lot, especially interms of the conical nozzle. The development of plant protection nozzle is also facing a lot ofproblems. Article aims to use the parametric design method to shorten the cycle of design ofthe plant protection nozzle and improve the efficiency.Through the understanding of plant protection nozzle, the performance metrics of fannozzle and conical nozzle are determined, including the amount of spray,spray angle anddistribution of fog three aspects,whereby we can get the key structural parameters of plantprotection nozzle.The main structural parameters of the the fan nozzle are include groovingangle α, the nozzle diameter D and the eccentricity e; The main structural parameters of theconical nozzle include nozzle diameter d, tangential grooving width b and thickness h, andthickness of the spacer H. By testing the size of each part of nozzleand using parametersetting method and size transfer equation of Pro/E, we can complete establishment of thenozzle model. Using secondary development tool Pro/toolkitof Pro/E,by using VC++andMFC to create and develop the parametric design module and preliminary interface of theplant protection nozzle.Then we can achieve the parametric design of plant protectionnozzle.Finally, by using meshing software the Gambit to establish model of nozzle, and fluidanalysis software the Fluent to simulate analysis of the internal flow field of nozzle, then wecan getthevelocity,pressure contours and curves ofnozzle flow field,at the same time, we canchange the structure of nozzle and get the contrast in the simulation analysis,it can provide areasonable basis for choice of structural parameters of the nozzle. By using the Volume offluid Model (VOF) and the Discrete phase Model (DPM) of Fluent, we can simulate andanalyse the shape of the spray and the process of the spray.Through the preliminary test of plant protection nozzle,the key structural parameters ofplant protection nozzle are determined.Then we create3D model and achieve the parametricdesign interface of plant protection nozzle, shorten the cycle and improve the efficiency ofdesign..Byanalyzing the internal flow field of plant protection nozzle,we can getthedistribution of velocity and pressure of nozzle flow field,it provide a reference for the reasonable choice of structural parameters of nozzle, in addition,by using VOF and DPM,simulating and analyzing the shape and the process of the spray have been done.
