In order to learn more deep about the distribution of walnut planting resource in the Ankang city, to take the most advantage of local resource and to promote the development of Ankang walnut industry, the Ankang purple-kernel walnut planting resource had been investigated practically in this study, including the condition of producing area like growing place, growing altitude, growing environment, source of plant, information of possessor etc. and the growth traits like tree age, tree shape, tree vigor, tree height, main trunk height, diameter at breast height, canopy, bough angle, soil texture, management etc. and the fruiting characteristics like fruit quality, fruit setting and dropping rate, yield to per plant, fruiting habit etc. also the phenophase like germination, flowering stage, fading date, fruit maturity, period of abscission and dormancy etc. On the basis of which, the repeated sampling had been carried out annually, while the quality of the samples had been analyzed as well as the contents had been measured. The quality analysis is of the dry fruit weight, kernel weight and kernel rate, vertical diameter and transverse diameter, suture diameter, shell thickness etc. the content measures mainly about the crude fat, crude protein, amino-acid and fatty acid. Combined PCA(principal component analysis) and cluster analysis with SPSS and value assignment method to separate out the superior plant, the integrated analysis consequences of 18 checked plants turned out several conclusions as the following:1. The 18 checked plants were parted from 69 primary plants with the nuts character analysis besides SPSS and value assignment method are added to make out 3 selections: AZ04(Liu Guoxi 2), AZ03( Tang Youan 3), AZ01(Liu Jiman). 2. The average kernel rate to the nuts of the 18 checked plants was 50.02%, the nut shell thickness was between 1.10 and 1.44 mm which seemed easier to break and take the kernel out. The percentage of kernel’s contents from crude fat to crude protein, unsaturated fatty acid and amino-acid of crude protein was 68.60%, 16.13%, 89.26%(Oleic acid, linoleic acid and linolenic acid in total) and 47.08% respectively, the average content of element Ca/Fe/Zn/Se in crude protein was 2277.35 mg/kg, 104.66 mg/kg, 106.82 mg/kg and 0.96 mg/kgrespectively. 3. The quality index of the individual nut of the 18 checked plants had strong correlation one another. Through the correlation analysis, it appeared highly significant positive correlation between the dry fruit weight and kernel weight/suture diameter, kernel weight and kernel rate/suture diameter, kernel rate and suture diameter, transverse diameter and sutures. It drew the same conclusion when it comes to the monadic regressive analysis. 4. A multiple regression equation of the dry fruit weight and shell thickness(x1), kernel weight(x2), Vertical diameter(x3), transverse diameter(x4), suture diameter(x5) was obtained through the multiple regression analysis as.y=0.426x1-2.041x2+0.002x3-0.031x4+0.238x5-3.314. 5. The cluster analysis to the 18 checked plants in 20 different indexes of nuts quality came out as the following four groups:(1)small thin-shelled type,(2) commercial type,(3) nutrition-abundant type,(4) calcium-high type.
