Grapholita molesta Busck is one of the important pests in fruit production. In order to achieve the pupose for scientific control for Grapholita molesta Busck, timely and accurate forecast is absolutely necessary. Estimating the population of pest accurately is the foundation of pest monitoring. However counting for the pest squanders time and vigour,so the lagging of forecast for the pest will occur. The database management and forecasting systems in the plant protection department area immature and inefficient. So in order to reduce the difficulty of study for Grapholita molesta Busck and improve the accuracy and efficiency of its study. The study collected the oriental fruit moth through trappers with lure and the automated counting system,after which the automated counting system for Grapholita molesta trap based on web was builded combined with related forecast model. The goal is to achieve the function of collecting the oriental fruit moth, counting, querying, forecasting so that estimating the population of pest accurately and efficiently and providing evidence for other fruit moths come ture. An automated counting technology was studied in a peach orchard in which the effects of the four kinds of traps are contrasted and the automated counting was evaluated. The prediction value of occurrence period of oriental fruit moth in the local situation was calculated based on the result of automated counting in web server. The main results are as follows:(1) The result showed that the effects of the basin and the bucket were better than the blue sticky and the self-made bottle.(2) The basin and the bucket can not only conduct the indicatorthe dynamic of its occurrence,but also reduce the damage degree of oriental fruit moth in orchard. They are worthy of using as environmental protection measures for control oriental fruit moth. So it is advised that they be popularized and applicated in fruit production(4) There were some differences between the results of the automated counting system and the manual statistics. The results from the automated counting system were lower than the manual statistics, some of which had big differences result from rain. But the results showed that their seasonal occurrence tended to be identical. And there are no significant difference in the change rare of Grapholita molesta Busck occurrence between the automated counting system and the manual statistics.(5) The forecasting model system used for the automated counting sysytem has simple use and its secondary development is convenient and fast.
