Grafting is pollution-free, environment-friendly, energy conserved. It helps increaseproduction, expand propagation coefficient, repel pests, strengthen resistance, improve quality aswell. However, grafting has strong timeliness and high labor intensity. Artificial grafting methodswhich are widely used currently have been unable to adapt to modern large-scale production mode,that’s why grafting machines with fast and stable quality of operating have been urgently needed.The rate of grafting machine is2-10times of manual grafting, which can reduce labor, completeplenty of grafting operation with high survival rate in crop grafting period, moreover, theindustrial management of grafting can help grafted seedling grow consistently and robustly.The essay analyzed the movement of artificial graft, devised the vegetable’s grafting machineof close joining method, completed the design of the overall structure of it, designed every partsof vegetable’s grafting machine for the close joining method in the grafting process of handling,clamping, cutting, fixing and so on. Besides, experiments were made to study the prototype. Themain work included:(1) grafting mode selection: through a comparative analysis of cut-in method, inarching method,cleft grafting, flat connection method, and pin connection in aspects of advantages,disadvantages and the feasibility of mechanical operation, we chose attached method as themost suitable method for the grafting machine; Test of physical properties of grafted seedlings:industrial breeding of grafted scion and grafted rootstock seedlings; basic parametermeasurement of grafted seedlings; compression deformation test of scion and rootstockseedlings. All of above is to provide the basis for design of attached grafting machine;(2) Design of mechanical structures of the vegetable grafting machine of the close joining method:designed the whole scheme, determined working processes, designed power system, handlingmechanism, cutting mechanism, clip and push mechanism of grafting machine by usingphysical characteristics of grafted seedlings.(3) Simulation analysis of handling mechanism: a mathematical model of carrying mechanism ofvegetable’s grafting machine was established, the kinematic analysis of carrying mechanismwas taken by using theoretical tools such as the robot motion control theory; motion control theory and means of carrying mechanism was provided by simulation analysis foroptimization of transportation route when carrying; Based on the analysis of mechanismmotion and motor control, the method of steady transmission was used, to reduce vibration oftransportation mechanism when urgent stop, which help improve the operation stability andincrease longevity of machine.(4) Research and experiments of the vegetable attached automatic grafting machine. Experimentsshowed that the grafting rate of this machine was about600strains per hour, the success rateof grafting was94%, survival rate of grafted seedlings was95%.
