A study was conducted to analysis the nutrient content, the apparent metabolizable energy (AME), true metabolizable energy (TME) and the utilization of proximate nutrients and amino acid (AA) of silkworm excrement, then evaluated the nutrition Value of silkworm excrement systematically. Through feeding trial on geese at the age of 14 to 70 days, determined the dietary optimal silkworm excrement supplemental level for geese. The aim of this study is to provide accurate data for the development and revision of Tables of Feed Composition and Nutrition Values in China, and to supply technical parameters for resource utilization of silkworm excrement in the diets of geese. This study was to determine AME, TME, the utilization of proximate nutrients and AA of silkworm excrement for adult ganders.Eighteen 60-weeks-old healthy Yangzhou ganders with weight of (4.91±0.26)Kg were randomly distributed into 3 groups (Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ)with 6 replicates per treatment and 1 gander per replicate. Group Ⅰ was input half homozygous foundation diets of 100g.Group Ⅱ and Ⅲ was input the diets which were formed of 20% or 40% silkworm excrement and basal diet. The results showed that the content of GE, CP, EE, total amino acid and Ca in silkworm excrement were 16.01 MJ/kg,17.64%,5.24%,9.06%and 3.00%, they were high. The content of CF, NDF, ADF and TP were 17.85%,28.34%,19.76% and 0.15%.AME and TME of silkworm excrement were 6.19MJ/kg and 7.07MJ/kg,the true utilization of CP and TAA were 53.79% and 48.05%,the utilization of CF, ADF, NDF, EE, Ca and P were 9.55%,23.75%, 34.03%,57.69%,25.97% and 14.16%.This study was to investigate the effects of dietary silkworm excrement supplemental level on growth performance, slaughter performance, viscera indices, body measurements, meat quality, nutrient composition and Favoring Substances of geese at the age of 14 to 70 days, in order to explore the dietary optimal silkworm excrement supplemental level for geese. Three hundred and thirty 11-days-old healthy male geese with similar body weight were randomly distributed into 5 groups (Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ,Ⅴ)with 6 replicates per treatment and 11 geese per replicate. All geese were fed basal diet during adaptation period (11 to 13 days). The control group (group Ⅰ)was fed a basal diet and experimental groups were fed experimental diets supplemented with 3%、 6%、9% and 12% silkworm excrement, respectively, during the trial period(14 to 70 days). The results showed:The body weight, the average daily gain and the breast muscle percentage of geese of group IV and group V were significantly lower than those of other groups (P<0.05), and the feed/gain higher than other groups (P<0.05). Adding silkworm excrement significantly increased the duodenum index, jejunum index, ileum index, cecum index, rectum index of geese(P<0.05), and there were significant linear correlations. The percentage of breast muscle shank circumference, breast width, body length, pelvis width and half-diving depth of geese of group IV and group V were significantly lower than those of other groups (P<0.05), That illustrate it decreased the growth performance and body. measurements of geese when the silkworm excrement supplemental level was from 9% to 12%.Adding silkworm excrement significantly decreased the meat color (breast muscle) and the shear force (leg muscle) of geese at the age of 70 days(P<0.05), and there were significant linear correlations. Adding silkworm excrement significantly increased the contents of moisture and decreased the contents of CP and EE in muscle(P<0.05), The contents of CP and EE in leg muscle of group IV lower than that of the group I (P<0.05), compared with the control, the contents of Moisture,CP and EE of group V were also significantly different(P<0.05). The contents of thiamine in breast and leg muscle were increased evidently by adding dietary supplement with silkworm excrement(P<0.05),while the contents of Inosinic acid and amino acid were not significantly changed(.P>0.05).According to comprehensive analysis, AME and TME of silkworm excrement were moderate, the value of TME is 7.07 MJ/kg, and it is equivalent to that of wheat bran. Proximate nutrients and AA of silkworm excrement were abundant, however, their corresponding utilization were low.It can be used in the diets of geese. It has no negative effect on growth performance, slaughter performance, viscera indices, body measurements, meat quality and nutrient composition of geese to add dietary with suitable silkworm excrement, it also could improved the growth of geese intestinal and may improved the tenderness of muscle and increased the content of thiamine. By this test, the dietary optimal silkworm excrement level is less than 6%in the production practice of geese.
