Agriculture is the foundation of the national economy, but also our national economy weakest link in the chain. In order to accelerate and promote agricultural information in general, "McKinnon Project" presented in December 1994, "the joint meeting of the National Economic and Information Technology," the third session. The main contents are:The overall objective of a comprehensive management information system are: the use of advanced "3S" and spatial database technology, computer network as the basis, the core database, establish a set of RS, GIS, GPS, MIS, ES technology in one, accurate, efficient, fast, comprehensive, standardized agricultural management information system. Take full advantage of the features and advantages of GIS technology, agricultural resource information collection, information dissemination, dynamic monitoring, analysis, management, decision-making and information management integration space, visual image, dynamically display space distribution of various agricultural resources and changes in trends.
