In order to probe into the effects of probiotics on prevention and control of the early weaned syndrome of puppies, and to explore the possibilities for probiotics adding into puppy food supplement, this experiment mainly studied the effects of complex probiotics on the weight gain and the intestinal flora as well as the antioxidant capacity for 40-day-aged weaned puppies. The experiments selects 16 hybrid dogs in the Hohhot region, and divides them into four groups, and divided into three parts:1. Effects of different doses of complex probiotics on the growth of weaned puppies: After the feeding of the basal diet, different doses of complex probiotics were administrated orally into puppies. The experimental results show that the daily gains in the experimental groups (Low, medium and high dose groups) were respectively increased by 12.55%,20.71% and 15.97% in the control group which having no feeding of complex probiotics, and the difference is significant (P<0.01). The experimental groups compared with the control group. After the feeding of complex probiotics of 28d, the fecal pH values of the experimental group were respectively decreased by 0.5,0.6, 0.58 when compared with the control group, the fecal pH values of the three experimental groups lower than the control group, and the difference is significant (P<0.01), the results show that the intestinal pH value in the puppies can be reduced after the weaned puppies having being fed with complex probiotics, and the growth of harmful bacteria can be inhibited, so as to promote the growing development of the puppies.2. Effects of different doses of complex probiotics on the intestinal flora of weaned puppies faeces:The Escherichia coli and lactic acid bacteria in the puppy faeces (0.1g) are cultured regularly, and the number of intestinal flora is deduced by plate counting method. The results show that the number of E. coli of the middle dose group is significantly decreased (P<0.01) when compared with the control group after the feeding of complex probiotics in the 14th day, and the numbers of E. coli of the three experimental groups were significantly reduced (P<0.01) when compared with the control group after the feeding of complex probiotics in the 21st day. And after the feeding of the complex probiotics of 14d, the experimental groups compared with control group, the number of lactic acid bacteria in middle dose group is significantly increased (P<0.01), and after feeding of 21d, the experimental groups compared with the control group, the numbers of lactic acid bacteria in the three experimental groups are significantly increased (P<0.01). After testing for 28d, the numbers of lactic acid bacteria in the low-dose group is significantly increased (P<0.05) when compared with the control group, and the experimental groups compared with the control group, the numbers of lactic acid bacteria in Middle dose group and high dose group are significantly increased (P<0.01). That is, after the feeding of complex probiotics in the medium dose to the puppies for 14d, the bacteria content of pathogenic Escherichia coli in the intestinal tract of puppies can be reduced, while the content of lactic acid bacteria can be raised, which means that the complex probiotics has a regulatory effect on the intestinal flora.3. Effects of complex probiotics on antioxidative ability of weaned puppies:The experimental results show that the T-SOD activity and GSH-Px activity in the serum of puppies of the experimental group which were fed complex probiotics are significantly increased when compared the control group (P<0.01), while the MDA content is significantly decreased (P<0.05). Therefore, the complex probiotics can improve the antioxidant capacity of puppies.
