Onion poisoning in dogs is a common toxic disease in clinical practice. It is mainly caused by the n-propyl disulfide produced by onion oil, which reduces the activity of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase(g-6-pd)and other antioxidant enzymes in red blood cells, and increases the content of free radicals, causing oxidative damage to red blood cells and causing hemolytic anemia. The purpose of this study was to find out the dynamic changes of blood antioxidant capacity in the case of onion poisoning in puppies, and to further compare the differences in blood antioxidant capacity between hybrid puppies(Chinese garden dogs)and purebred puppies(golden retrievers)after onion poisoning. It provides scientific theoretical basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment of onion poisoning in puppies. In this experiment,6 Chinese garden puppies and 6 golden retrievers were selected.Self-contrast and intergroup control were used. The fresh onion and meat were accurately weighed and stir-fried at the dose of 30 g/kg body weight, and the experimental dogs were fed continuously for3 days. After a week before feeding the Onions, and feeding the onion 1 d,3 d,6 d,9 d,13 d,18 d,24 d,make glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase(G-6-PD),glutathione(GSH),glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)and glutathione reductase(GR),malondialdehyde(MDA)and hydrogen peroxide(H2O2),hydroxyl free radical, superoxide dismutase(T-SOD),peroxidase(POD),catalase(CAT),total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC)detection.The results showed that the activity of G-6-PD of Chinese garden dogs in group A decreased after onion feeding and decreased to the minimum on the 3rd day,and the difference was very significant compared with that before onion feeding(p<0.01),and returned to the normal level on the 6th day.The vitality of G-6-PD of golden retrievers in group B decreased rapidly, and the difference was very significant on day 1and day 3(p<0.01),and significant on day 6(p<0.05).After feeding Onions, the activity of T-SOD in group A and group B decreased to A negative number, which was significantly different from that before feeding Onions in experimental dogs(p<0.01).The changes of GSH content,GSH-Px activity and CAT activity were irregular. After onion feeding,GR activity in group A reached the highest point on the 3rd day,and the difference was very significant compared with that before feeding(p<0.01).However,GR activity in group B did not change much, and it increased slightly on the 1st day, followed by A slow decline, and returned to the level before feeding on the 24th day.POD,MDA and H2O2 increased significantly on the first day after feeding Onions, and the ability to inhibit hydroxyl free radicals increased slowly. The total antioxidant capacity decreased significantly after feeding, but increased to normal levels over time. The results showed that the antioxidation capacity of the blood decreased first and then increased, and there was no interspecific difference.
