The sensory quality, physical properties, chemical constitutions and smoking quality of oriental tobacco in different production areas (Yunnan、Zhejiang、Hubei、Thailand、Turkey) were analyzed by laboratory analysis between 2007 and 2008.According to the analysis results, the quality of oriental tobacco leaves in different production areas were evaluated by statistical method of partial correlation analysis and multiple comparison by DPS5.0 and SPSS13.0.The results as follows:1 The evalution of tobacco sensory quality in different production areas.In sensory guality, the luster and body of the three main producing areas(Ynunan、Zhejiang、Hubei) approached the quality of foreign aromatic tobacco(Thailand、Turkey), so did the oil and structure .But the color of aromatic tobacco in Yunnan was the better than that of Thailand and Turkey. The color and structure of aromatic tobacco in Zhejiang had slight gap with the aromatic tobacco of Thailand and Turkey. But the oil approached, The color、oil and structure of aromatic tobacco in Hubei had slight gap with the aromatic tobacco of Thailand and Turkey.2 The evalution of tobacco physical properties in different production areasThe filling values of upper leaves, middle leaves, lower leaves from the three production areas were as follows: Hubei>Zhejiang>Yunnan, the leaf thickness of three stalk position were as follows: upper leaves and middle leaves as Zhejiang>Yunnan>Hubei, lower leaf as Zhejiang>Hubei>Yunnan. Pulling force and tensile strength of upper leaf from three production areas were less than that of turkey, middle leaf :Yunnan>turkey, lower leaf :Zhejiang>turkey.3 Chemical analysis of oriental tobacco in different areasTotal sugar and amino acid contents of oriental tobacco are the highest in Hubei, but they are the lowest in Yunnan. The differences of different areas achieve significant level. Total sugar and reduce sugar are the highest in Yunnan, Total sugar and reduce sugar are no significant difference in Zhejiang and Hubei; Nicotine content of oriental tobacco is the highest in Zhejiang. It is no significant difference in Zhejiang and Hubei; Chlorine content is the highest in Hubei. It is no significant difference in Zhejiang andYunnan; K content is the highest in Zhejiang. It is the lowest in Yunnan. Starch content of oriental tobacco is the highest in Yunnan. It is the lowest in Hubei. Protein content of oriental tobacco is the highest in Hubei. It is no significant difference in Zhejiang andHubei; Polyphenol content of oriental tobacco is the highest in Yunnan, The differences of three areas achieve significant level.but It is no significant difference in Zhejiang and Hubei.4 Partial correlation analysis of appearance and part of chemical composition of oriental tobacco from different habitats.The results of partial correlation analysis showed that:Oriental tobacco o of Yunnan province, total nitrogen with leaf weight had significant negative correlation, total nitrogen and simple leaf weight had significant positive correlation; nicotinic with leaf weight and leaf thickness had very notable negative correlation, nicotinic with simple leaf weight, leaf length and leaf width had very notable position correlation; potassium with leaf weight had significant negative correlation, potassium with simple leaf weight, leaf length had significant positive correlation, potassium with leaf thickness had very notable position correlation; Sugar-nicotine ratio with leaf weight had very notable position correlation, Sugar-nicotine ratio with leaf thickness had significant positive correlation; K/Cl with simple leaf weight, leaf length and leaf width had very notable position correlation, K/Cl with leaf thickness had significant negative correlation. Oriental tobacco of Zhejiang province, total nitrogen with leaf weight had very notable position correlation, total nitrogen with leaf thickness had significant positive correlation; chlorine with simple leaf weight had significant negative correlation; potassium, K/Cl with leaf weight, leaf thickness had significant negative correlation; Petroleum ether extract with simple leaf weight had significant positive correlation.Oriental tobacco of Hubei province, total nitrogen with leaf weight had significant negative correlation; total sugar, reducing sugarwith leaf weight had significant positive correlation, total sugar, reducing sugar with leaf length and leaf width had significant correlation, total sugar, reducing sugar with simple leaf weight had very notable negative correlation; Sugar-nicotine ratio with leaf weight had significant positive correlation, Sugar-nicotine ratio with simple leaf weight, leaf length and leaf width had significant negative correlation.5 The highest contents of non-volatile organic acid and higher fatty acid is Yunnan province, and next is Hubei province and Zhejiang province, non-volatile organic acid content of three ecotype register as: Hubei province, lower leaf > upper leaf > middle leaf, Yunnan province, middle leaf > upper leaf > lower leaf, Zhejiang province, lower leaf > middle leaf > upper leaf, higher fatty acid content register as: Hubei province, upper leaf > lower leaf > middle leaf, Yunnan province, lower leaf > upper leaf > middle leaf, Zhejiang province, middle leaf > upper leaf > lower leaf.6 Cembranoid aroma and degradation products contents register as , Hubei province highest, secondly is Yunnan province, finally is Zhejiang province; cembranoid aroma and degradation products contents in Yunnan province and Zhejiang province were reduced vary with level degrade, cembranoid aroma and degradation products contents in Hubei province register as A3 > A1 > A2. The highest contents of three position is Hubei province, and higher than Thailand and Turkey, cembranoid aroma and degradation products contents of middle and upper leaf in Yunnan and Hubei Province higher than Thailand and Turkey; Ladanum and degradation products contents register as: Yunnan and Zhejiang Province reduced vary with level degrade, Hubei Province register as A1 > A3 > A2; Yunnan Province Ladanum contents highest in three province, ladanum contents of middle and upper leaf in Yunnan Province higher than Thailand, ladanum contents of middle and upper leaf in Zhejiang and Hubei Province lower than Thailand, and the three production place significant higher than Turkey; Carotenoid and degradation products contents register as, Yunnan Province, A1>A3>A2, Zhejiang Province, A2>A1>A3, Hubei Province, A1>A2>A3; the highest Carotenoid content is Zhejiang Province, and higher than Thailand and Turkey, Carotenoid content between Yunnan, Hubei,Thailand and turkey had no obvious difference; other aroma components contents mainly register as Zhejiang > Yunnan > Hubei, between domestic oriental tobacco, Turkey and Thailand had no obvious difference; volatile aromatic components contents of three position of Yunnan, Hubei and middle, upper position of Zhejiang higher than Turkey and Thailand.7 Sensory quality evaluation in different oriental tobacco areaSensory quality style of oriental tobacco in Yunnan was having- remarkable, with an enough volume of aroma, a middle-stronger density, a lighter-having offensive, a middle strength, a having-hot irritation, a comfortable-more comfortable after-taste, a middle-stronger combustion and a grey and greyish white color, and sensory taste score was: B1>A2>A1、A3>K1.Compared with that in Yunnan, orient tobacco in Zhejiang was having-more remarkable, with an enough volume of aroma, a less-middle-stronger density, a greater-having offensive, a middle strength, a having-hot irritation, a comfortable-more comfortable after-taste, a middle-stronger combustion and a grey and greyish white color, and sensory taste score was:A1>A2>B1>A3>K1.Therefore, the lighter color, the lower sensory taste comprehensive score it is. Oriental tobacco in Hubei was having-more remarkable, with an enough volume of aroma, a middle density, a having-lighter offensive, a less-middle-greater strength, a having-hot irritation, a comfortable-more comfortable after-taste, a middle-stronger combustion and a grey and greyish white color, and sensory taste score was: B1>K1>A2>A3>A1.The result indicated that oriental tobacco of Yunnan and Zhejiang were higher than that of Turkey and Thailand, Hubei was had almost the same score with Thailand.
