Pinellia Ternata(Thunb.) Breit.’s Law And Academic Discussion In Shang Han Za Bing Lun

Shanghanzabinglun is known as the origin of Chinese medical formula books, which recorded many classical prescriptions. In all prescriptions, 21 prescriptions are named by Pinellia ternata(Thunb.) Breit. 113 prescriptions in Shanghanlun,18 are named by it. 245 prescriptions in Jinguiyaolue,in which 32 affirmative plus attached ones are named by Pinellia ternata(Thunb.) Breit., and 44 contains it removing duplicate ones. That is remarkable that Zhongjing Zhang was good at the use of Pinellia ternata(Thunb.) Breit. However, due to change of drug habits and culture today, people are lack of inheritance of Zhongjing Zhang’s ideas. So the paper is trying to explore the Zhongjing Zhang’s academic thought through the research of Pinellia ternata(Thunb.) Breit., it’s just hoping to know part of it. Through literature research methods, the use of Pinellia ternata(Thunb.) Breit. by Zhongjing Zhang is elaborated from 3 parts: Pinellia ternata herbal medicine, the analysis of Pinellia ternata prescription in Shanghanzabinglun and using law of prescription. In herbal medicine section, current research on herbal Pinellia ternata(Thunb.) Breit. is discussed from the name, origin, sexual taste, efficacy, processing and other aspects. In prescription analysis part, from the use rule of of Pinellia ternata by Zhongjing Zhang, the application characteristics in prescription was analyzed, and the controversial prescriptions were discussed, such as the Huangqi Jianzhong, Wen Jingtang. The characteristics of the drug use by Zhongjing Zhang was discussed partly from Pinellia ternata compatibility, dosage, dosage form, decocting, taking methods and other aspects, Zhongjing Zhang’s research ideas were explored through the method of comparison, induction, summary, research and so on. And from interpretation of Zhongjing Zhang’s use of Pinellia ternate by later generations of doctors, it was summarized that Pinellia ternata can reduce phlegm, be antiemetic and eliminate stagnation. besides, it still has function of regulating organs, achieving a balance of Yin and Yang. Therefore, to explore the characteristics of Zhongjing Zhang’s academic thinking, aims at cultivating Chinese traditional medicine thought, understanding of Zhongjing Zhang thought accurately, and improving the clinical curative effect of traditional Chinese medicine.
