Gene Polymorphism Of Interleukin 4 (IL-4) And Its Association With Uighur Children Asthma

Objective:To investigate the association between the polymorphism of the IL-4 gene and asthma.Methods:The IL-4 gene-590C�'T polymorphism was determined by PCR in 38 patients with bronchial asthma(asthma group) and 35 normal children(control group).x2 test was used for comparison between 2 groups after Calculation of genotype an-d allele frequency.Results:The IL-4 gene -590C�'T polymorphism showed significant differences between the two groups.The frequencies of CC、CT and TT genotypes of IL-4 gene-590C�'T polymorphism were,respectively,21%、29% and 50% in group of asthma, 49%、37% and 14% in group of control(x2=11.476,P<0.05).The frequencies of T allele for IL-4 gene -590C�'T revealed significantly highter in asthma group than in control gro-up.The OR of T allele was 3.542(P<0.05).Conclusion:In the present study,it confirmed the association of IL-4 gene -590C�'T polymorphism with bronchial asthma in Uighur children,and found A allele may be one of the susceptibility factors for Uighur bronchial asthma.
