Objective The experiment will study the concentration of serum PTX3in different types of Cerebralinfarction carotid plaque group and control group, and to explore the relationships among serumPTX3,Cerebral infarction and carotid atherosclerosis in patients with Cerebral infarction.providing a certainbasis for that whether it can be become biomarkers of Cerebral infarction, as well as clinical prevention forthe occurrence of Cerebral infarction. Methods According to the results of carotid artery color Doppler ultrasound test,98patients withCerebral infarction from department of Neurology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xin Jiang Shi he ziUniversity Medical College were divided into33cases of unstable plaques (USP) group,33cases of stableplaque(SP)group and32cases of no plaques (NP) group. At the same time,30healthy individuals wereincluded as a control group.Levels of serum PTX3were measured by Enzyme Linked ImmunosorbentAssay (ELISA),to compare the difference of PTX3among these four groups, and to study the relationshipsamong PTX3,Cerebral infarction and carotid atherosclerosis in patients with Cerebral infarction.Bycorrelation analysis, to research the relationship between PTX3and metabolic, inflammatory indicators.ByLogistic Regression, to analyze the relationship between PTX3levels and cerebral infarction as well asvulnerable plaques. Results (1)Serum PTX3levels with Cerebral infarction group without plaque, stable plaque and unstableplaque were significantly higher than that of control group,(2.51±1.06)ng/ml,(2.68±0.86)ng/ml,(3.19±0.78)ng/ml VS (1.91±0.60)ng/ml.(2)Serum PTX3levels between Cerebral infarction group withoutplaque and the groups with stable plaque showed no significant difference (P>0.05).(3)Serumconcentrations of PTX3with Cerebral infarction unstable plaque were higher than Cerebral infarctiongroup without plaque and stable plaque group (P<0.05);(4)Correlation analysis showed:serum PTX3levelsand TC, LP (a), WBC, hs-CRP were positively correlated (all P<0.05), serum PTX3and TG, LDL-C,HDL-C, NEUT, Hcy were no correlation (all P>0.05).(5)Risk factors associated with Cerebral infarctionLogistic regression analysis showed, hs-CRP, Hcy, PTX3have a statistical significance(OR=1.312,1.103,3.501, all P<0.05), hs-CRP, Hcy, PTX3may be the risk factors for Cerebral infarction.(6)Risk factors associated with carotid plaque of patients with Cerebral infarction Logistic regressionanalysis suggests, PTX3may be an independent risk factor for unstable carotid atherosclerotic plaques ofpatients with Cerebral infarction.(OR=3.231,95%CI:1.29~8.10,P=0.012).Conclusions (1)serum levels of PTX3were significantly higher in patients with Cerebral infarction, and itis also highly associated with the stability of carotid atherosclerotic plaque.(2) PTX3may be the riskfactors for Cerebral infarction.
